If he has the courage and the will to do this, historians will begin recording the events that eventually could see this president go down in history alongside the likes of Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln. The dark cloud that now hangs ominously above America will be blown away by the winds of change and the people of this nation will once again have hope for a better future for themselves and those who follow.

Mr. Obama needs to think long and hard about what a wrong decision on his part will do to this nation. If he continues on the path to war, here's the dilemma that he will exacerbate -- a continued, ever-increasing recession and further loss of jobs, massive budget deficits, a collapsing dollar, states in crisis, dire threats to Social Security, Medicare and critical social programs. If he fails to make the decision that America drastically needs, he will be personally responsible for a national catastrophe.

We will soon get our answer. July 31 is fast approaching and we will get our first clues about what this president will do in Afghanistan. Then, only a few months later on or before December 31, 2011 we will know about the Iraq withdrawal.

What will history have recorded about President Obama's critical decisions 30 years from now? Will he have earned the legacy of a president who traded an agenda of war for one of peace? A president who took a nation that was in the process of a steep decline and reversed the process; one that once again restored this nation's leadership role and respect in the world?

America must see an end to these occupations and never, ever again become involved in wars that bring needless devastation and death to many thousands of innocent civilians, as well as our troops. We must never again waste the wealth and resources of this nation to pursue unwinnable wars that tear apart the domestic foundations of America.
