I have a vivid memory of a distraught mother crying and moaning, "I can't imagine them (the children) having to see that?" What "that" is she talking about? Undoubtedly the lady is now a member in good standing of some Tea Party.
The reason given by the people opposed to letting their kids see a speech urging them to stay in school was that the President might try to indoctrinate them into a "Cult of Obama"! A Limbaugh show substitute, Mark Steyn, said such cult would be built based on models like those of Saddam Hussein or Kim Jong-Il.
Some school districts around the country directed schools not to give time to the speech; others sent home a permission slip asking parents to give their okay.
In Florida, the state Republican chairman said he "was appalled that taxpayer dollars are being used to spread President Obama's socialist ideology."
Of all the things the mob has done, this is probably the silliest. As far as I know, Fox and friends have not done a follow up story on the Cult of Obama or interviewed parents to see if their kids came home from school with a far away look in their eyes.
Today, the lynch mob is in full swing and their "Don't Tread on Me" banner flies over much of America.
Millions have been won over by their hate and irrationality and they appear set to make big gains in the election.
