I read all the time, so this essay caught my eye when I read Columbia Journalism Review's (CJR) Daily Newsletter. I've read CJR for years - perhaps 50 or 60, BTW. I'd recommend it to anyone trying to detox from the daily diatribes of MSM.

The author  would undoubtedly consider me a 'dilettante', which does not hurt my feelings. I am not a pro, but I am an omnivorous Reader, and have been since my mother read Peter Pan to me when I was about three. Thinking about that experience, I'd imagine she was reading it to my Brother who as around six - Age of Siblings often depends on your last Birthday.

It remains my favorite kid's book however - and NOT the Disney Version! My only problem with the story is I've never understood why Wendy went home. Perhaps she missed Nana the Dog, and mistook it for homesickness...

This is an essay about a topic that is important to any serious Reader.
