Why Don’t Mainstream Journalists Defend Assange?

Trump Administration’s prosecution of Assange represents a greater threat to the free press than all of the president’s nasty tweets combined. If the prosecution succeeds, investigative reporting based on classified information will be given a near death blow.Given the threat the Justice Department’s actions against Assange pose to the First Amendment, why haven’t more journalists, press organizations, and editorial boards jumped in to support him? Being good little boys and girls faithfully reporting whatever the guvmt gives them without a hint of investigation or even question, these 'journalists' think they're safe.

They're making a list
and checking it twice;
gonna find out who's naughty and nice ...

I suppose they're maybe even right. They're safe--as long as they continue to be very, very good.

By losing their integrity, they become pawns to be used, even led into traps if it suits the purpose, and then tossed away. By letting this happen to Assange, they open themselves to harm for saying the smallest wrong word. What short-sighted cowardice.

The ruling elites own the MSM. They also own the US government. This means that they also own the national security state. We misdirect ourselves to call the media stupid, or the president stupid. They are merely doing the bidding of their masters. Most of us little people are so manipulated that it is difficult for us to focus about who is f*cking us over. We get hung up in left/right when the evidence is right in front of our face. Ask yourself how many in the congress voted against the obscene military budget? How many voted to drain the treasury by taking out loans to pay for tax cuts to the elites? Which side of the aisle were they on? One thing is certain about the Trump presidency thus far. He has allowed us to see the hideous face of those who own and therefore operate this republic. It is silly continue to get dragged down in the Russia gate hoax. It is a diversion and a lot of people have died while this bullshit has taken front and center. Assange and Snowden definitely ripped the mask off. Remember the mercenaries in the Snowden expose' killing their adversaries that were trying to escape from a building? Remember the controller "advising" the murderers, "there, get that one...over there, get that (referring to a human being running for his life), git it. If we think the ruling elites are going to give up their psychotic binge for world domination and ecosphere destruction without bloodshed, we might as well give up and die by our own hands. We must stop deluding ourselves, that it is the government, or the president, or the congress or the courts or NATO that are acting on their own. They are merely tools, dangerous and ugly tools yet tools just the same.

We have to make up our minds to begin resisting. Becoming educated to the psyops being run against us, and building in resilience which includes our own thoughts and solutions to retake control of our security.

The above could not be better written or spelled out. "One thing is certain about the Trump presidency thus far. He has allowed us to see the hideous face of those who own and therefore operate this republic." The overt criminality has become obvious. Why does nobody go against an Assange prosecution? Because a free mainstream media has virtually disappeared.

Jill Stein long ago noted that Assange should be treated as a national hero. My only disagreement is that he IS an international hero.
