Will the party cater to those who can fund its expensive campaigns, or take a big leap of faith, serve the people and survive with a lot less cash? 'Establishment voices will probably mock Sanders’ view as naive or overly idealistic. But if you think about what Sanders is arguing, perhaps he is the realist.'

Proposed Adjustment to US Election System:

1) Population votes not for persons but for policies...

(i.e. Expanded Medicare for all, public-funded (not "free") college tuition, bans on GMOs, bans of pesticide residues in smoking products (inhalation being worst exposure path), ban of dioxin-producing chlorine-bleached cigarette paper, subsidies for solar power, removing private corporate influence in PUBLIC broadcasting, progressive taxation with no exceptions, return of Fairness Doctrine on public airwaves, ending death penalty, independent testing of medicines and medical products, public legislators required to reveal their and family investments in private industries, same for judges and jurors, voting on Saturdays and/or Voting Holidays, uniformity of public schools paid by the entire state instead of just local areas, no "user fees" for any public park or museum or highway or bridge, etc., drafting of military contractors in times when military materials are required, No Profit-Taking by military contractors, fossil fuel/methane industries required to significantly compensate victims of climate disruption, women's right to choose, hemp agriculture promotion.....and whatever else.)

(Even add alternative policies of slavery, more religion in government, men automatically get more pay than women, support of torture, white immigrants only, junk food ok in public schools, etc etc etc.)

2) Officials then selected based on voted-for policies that they support.
