Your face on someone else's body. Thanks to deepfake technology, that's now something that could happen to anyone and  is already upending women's lives, and almost no one is talking about that.  There's almost nothing you can do to get a fake sex tape of yourself taken offline. This can damage reputations, personal relationships and job prospects. 'Really disturbing is the camaraderie on deepfake porn forums, where users cheer each other o for creating & sharing believable videos --  willfully blind to how their actions affect the women who are featured. One creator, said deepfake porn is 'no different from a photoshop manipulation...'justifying the behavior as a 'service.'  The reality is, deepfake porn is already silencing women. Right now, women are having their photos and videos distorted and used against them in incredibly harmful ways without consequence.'

Jesselyn Cook interviewed several women who've become victims of deepfake porn; "Right now, women are having their photos and videos distorted and used against them in incredibly harmful ways without consequence. As one expert told me: "There's a massive chilling effect that deepfake pornography has on women's speech, because the way to make yourself safer is to censor yourself.I'm interested to see how Congress will decide to handle deepfakes. In the meantime, I'm nervous to see how quickly the technology will continue to advance. While doing research for an earlier explanatory article on deepfakes, I was disappointed by the lack of media coverage and public conversation about the ways these videos are harming women. There's been a lot of concern about the political problems deepfakes could hypothetically cause in the future, but deepfake porn is already upending women's lives, and almost no one was talking about that. I know. I have looked into "deepfakes" and think I will submit an article. Not on the porn aspect -- I already posted something on that -- but on what will lead to a paranoid, schizophrenic society.

This is what I posted over a year ago. It 'Quicklinks' to an article in the Atlantic. It uses face-swap porn to lead into what can, and no doubt will be, done; if not already being done. We will no longer know what to believe ... not even our eyes. We will become paranoid schizophrenics. They will have total control.

What I posted:
