Climate change 'converts' reveal what changed their minds

Jerry Taylor, 56, was a climate change skeptic, working the “entire orbit of right-wing media,” arguing climate change was not a real problem: “The policy was climate denialism 24-7.” Taylor, who was the director of energy and environmental policy at the Cato institute at the time. Climate change was a hoax, propagated by the exaggerated claims of alarmist liberal commentators. 

He began to have doubts about the counterarguments, then shifted his focus;if climate change is real, the action required to address it would impose vast costs. 

Today, as founder of the Niskanen Center, a DC based think tank that promotes carbon taxation, Taylor is a climate change “convert" contributing to a Republican transformation. Now, Kevin McCarthy is encouraging Republicans to come up with climate change legislation to counter Democrats’ Green New Deal, as reported by the Washington Examiner.
