Yes, indeed - 'Truth To Power'. The 'powers that be' cling to 'power' while those 'on the outside looking in' can only 'speak out' and 'demand the truth', even risking 'life and limb' - e.g., "They weren't expecting Custer to show up" - Ernie Lapointe, great grandson of Sitting Bull @ 3:52 minutes - "Family Oral History of Little Big Horn Battle". 'Absolute Power' granted by Congress in the 21st Century starts off with these words - "the people who knocked these buildings down will soon hear from all of us", Bush shouts in his 'bullhorn' shortly after 9/11, except of course, it wasn't the Iraqis, nor the Afghanis - Bush fails to investigate whoever it was that was really responsible for causing all of the explosions - 'explosives used' - at the World Trade Center on 9/11, Twin Towers in the AM, and Building 7 at 5:20 PM, killing almost 3,000 persons. "But al-Qaeda operatives could not have obtained the needed access to the buildings to plant the explosives and would not have ensured that the buildings come straight down II"..

Reply to Michael Dewey:   New Content

Definitely. The wisdom is there and was thrown out by European colonizers who treated indigenous peoples as savages.

This 3 Chiefs Tribute to Red Cloud, Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse by Marty Stuart is a morning, afternoon & evening ritual prayer. Marie in Belgium a month before passing on Karl Marx's 199th birthday (Just found that out last summer.) said month before, "The more I hear that song the more I love it. I can hear her first words up there being, "How long you great spirits going to allow them lunatics in charge to drive men like my husband insane?" We are the 7th Generation to be a blessing to even them lunatics.

We need massive, systemic, structural, economic, political, religious and social change. The reality - much as we might like to deny it - is that without such radical and comprehensive change, human and Biospheric survival is very dubious.

The suffering of present and future decades - as the collapse of human and natural systems deepens - will hopefully expand our awareness to embrace this realization.

I believe that each of us needs to take responsibility for being an example of Sacred Activism - which would be to be infused with wisdom, strength, compassion and joy - aroused by a vision of the further evolution of humankind. We can each play a passionate role in the spiritual evolution of humanity.
