Enforce the Oath of Office and Force a vote on SCOTUS nominee

Obama meets with SCOTUS nominee Judge Merrick Garland.

Republicans are vowing not to confirm any Supreme Court nominee Obama makes, and have done so both in fact and with a signed Oath. This recent Oath violates their Oath of Office which says: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that...I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter..."

Republican Senators need to be held LEGALLY accountable and there is both precedent and procedures to do so. To advise and consent regarding a Supreme Court Justice is not "optional," it is required and it is a jail-able Constitutional felony to refuse to do so. See here: http://bit.ly/1XKev79

I have now created a Whitehouse.org petition to get the Administration to enforce the law regarding the Oath of Office as it pertains to voting on a SCOTUS nominee:
If there are 100,000 signatures by one month's time, the White House is obligated to respond. Please sign if you believe in the Constitution.

4 people have signed this petition.

Petition Ending Date was Reached on May 16, 2016

The compiled petition with signatures is presented to the petition recipients on the ending date.
