Thoughts from "Miracles"

Thoughts from “Miracles”

This holy instant I follow You, God, certain that your direction will lead me to peace. I place You in full charge of my life. I know that if I follow in the direction you lead I will return back to that place that I never really left, though at times I have felt so far away from.

When You created me, You gave me all I would ever need. Help me to remember the familiar ancient song of wholeness and unity where thoughts of isolation and separation are barely distant memories of impossible concepts I once held credence in. With You I can rest and be assured there is nothing to fear and confident that You will always provide what is needed. I need not worry about worthless things of this world. I place no value on these things now.

These are not the treasures that I seek. Your love is the treasure I have sought and found and I will forever treasure Your love in my heart. Your treasures are not associated with an earthly body and are not confined to this world. Your treasures I truly can take with me beyond the confines of this world. I carry Your love with me wherever I go in this world and over to another perfect world that my earthly brain cannot fully comprehend. My brain can not imagine the existence of this world which lies beyond the vision of my body’s eyes.

There is much uncertainty in this world. Only the end is certain. If the way seems long, let me be content, for I have decided on the direction I want to take, and this is all that is asked of me. Since I have done this, and this is all that God requires of me, would He withhold the rest from me?

I will step back and let Him lead the way. I will speak words that are placed in my mouth by God and I will not try to judge these words because I know they are far wiser than my own. What comes forth from my mouth are God’s words which have power beyond the symbolism represented by other words that are merely meaningless symbols.

Words are but symbols of symbols, and as such they are twice removed from reality. As symbols, words have quite specific references, Even words of abstract concepts are apt to present concrete pictures to the mind.

Though we construct our prayers with words, the words that we use merely stand for the experiences we pray for. The power of prayer being as it is, it is impossible for any prayer of the heart to go unanswered in the perception of the one who prays. If he asks for the impossible and wants what does not exist or seeks for illusions in his heart, all this becomes his own. The power of his decision offers all to him as he requests. Herein lie hell and Heaven.

The sleeping Son of God has the power to choose whether hell or Heaven will be his lot. This is enough. His words do not matter. Only the Word of God has any meaning, because it symbolizes that which has no human symbols at all.

The Holy Spirit alone understands what God’s Word stands for. And this too is enough.

Forgive the world and you will understand that everything that God created cannot have an end, and nothing He did not create is real. His Will is totally without opposite. There is no thought that contradicts His Will. Now is the mighty Will of God Himself His gift to you. The Will of God is One and all there is. This is our heritage.

God’s peace is the condition for His Will.

When forgiveness is present, there must be peace, for what except attack will lead to war? When peace is found, war is meaningless and it is conflict that is now perceived as nonexistent and unreal.

Sooner or later, we must all ask ourselves the question: Is conflict what I want, or is God’s peace the better choice? Which choice offers more? A tranquil mind is not a little gift. Is it not better to choose to live rather than dying? Living is joy, but death can only weep.

Perhaps we see in death an escape from what we have made. What we do not see is that we have made death and elevated it in our minds to the status of a “fact”, rather than an illusion which we created. Perhaps we forget or deceive ourselves into believing thoughts in which life has an opposite, and that opposite is death. Life and death seem to be opposite one another because we have decided that death ends life. How easily we forget that God’s Will is without opposite and in spite of our tendencies to sometimes believe otherwise, nothing can oppose God’s Will. We would all be wise to remember this and forget the illusions of our tiny imaginings that would deny or contradict this.

Can God Be Reached Directly?

We must not despair because of our limitations; it is our function to escape these limitations, but not to be without them. If you would be a savior, you must understand what needs to be escaped. For those who suffer to hear us, we must speak to them in their language.

Salvation is not theoretical. It requires only that we behold the problem, ask for the answer, and then accept it when it comes. Not one need we have will not be met.

God takes us only where we are ready to go and welcomes us here. What more could we desire, when this is all we need?

What is Death?

Death is the central dream from which all illusions stem. It is the one fixed, unchangeable belief of the world that all things in it are born only to eventually die. This is regarded as the “way of nature”, not to be questioned but instead to be accepted as a “fact” of life.

We imagine God holding our little lives in his hand and dangling us by a thread, ready to break us off without regret or care. Perhaps it will be today, or perhaps at some later time of His choosing. Either way, the ending with death is certain. Death has become life’s symbol. Our world is a battleground where we face constant contradiction and opposites make endless war. Where there is death, peace is impossible.

Death is the symbol of the fear of God which blots out God’s love like a shield held up to block the sun. The grimness of death cannot coexist with God. The symbol of death holds an image of God’s Son “laid to rest” in devastation’s arms, where worms wait to greet and consume him. Yet even the worms are also doomed to be destroyed, as are all living things. Devouring is nature’s “law of life” and God must be insane and feared by all living things which are subject to the whims of His Will.

Death denies life. If death is real, life is not. But if there is reality in life, then must death be unreal. No compromise in this is possible. There is either a god of fear or a God of Love.

The world attempts a thousand compromises, and then a thousand more. We must not accept any one of them, because not one is acceptable to God who knows not of compromises. The compromises of fear and death are equally meaningless to Him since He did not make either of them.

Our assignment is to accept no compromise in which death plays a part. What seems to die has been misperceived and carried to illusion. Our task it to carry the illusion to the truth. We must not allow ourselves to be deceived by changing forms. We must remember that truth never wavers nor sinks down to death and dissolution.

What is the end of death? It is nothing but the realization that the Son of God is guiltless now and forever. It is nothing more than this. But we must not forget that it is nothing less than this.
