Most go throughout their entire life without much thought about why we the human species do the things we do.
Why it seems our Government pretends to care about the environment... all the while encouraging us to consume as much as we possibly can... even going so far as to call us outright... CONSUMERS!
That's a nasty word to me... and should have nasty connotations with you as well.
You can say because of the Taxes paid on consumer goods... and yes I'm sure you'd be at least PARTLY right.
There are plenty of greedy politicians eager to spend our tax money for political influence or outright kickbacks in the form of donations from Lobbyists!
We need to rid our entire system of Lobbyists... they are ABSOLUTE corruption in our otherwise fine system.
You could say because it helps our economy... and you'd be at least partly right there too.
BUT.
Do we REALLY want an Economy BUILT on destroying the world?
Is that INTELLIGENT? Or even viable for much longer?
What happens when we begin running low on things to CONSUME?
Do we wait until then to begin living within our means?
Or should we eat MOST of the rations in our life boat now... and save SOME for later?
We should only be taking what we NEED... not EVERYTHING we WANT!
How FREAKING spoiled rotten is that?
No dear people... I believe the BIG PICTURE... is far too big for most people to imagine.
I've been out... about... and traversed our entire nation. I've been to every state except Hawaii.
I've seen environmental degradation first hand and close up everywhere I went.
I've also been involved and done quite a few things in many of the States... seen quite a few things behind the scenes in quite a few places.
Even though I think I've got a better grasp of what life is all about than most people... I'm intelligent enough to know that even I... can not clearly see the BIG PICTURE.
But with God's help... my FOCUS is improving!
