Author Robert Draper was given rare access to Bush, the first lady, and various members of the administration while he was writing his newly released, “Dead Certain”. Draper recounts a converstaion with the president in which he says of his post presidency years, “I can make a ridiculous amount of money. I’ll give some speeches to replenish the ol' coffers.” He goes on to talk about the money his father and Bill Clinton have earned through speaking engagements.

 

This statement is just of course one of many that demonstrates Bush’s lack of depth and his inability to empathize with the plight of others, and his actions do certainly speak more loudly than his facile words ever could, as illustrated in the photos below.
