Miracles as True Perception
It is impossible to conceive of light and darkness or everything and nothing as joint possibilities. Either they are all true or they are all false. We can not make untruth true. The way to correct distortions is to withdraw our faith in them and invest our faith only in what is true.
Truth overcomes all error. Before we can truly know anything, our perception must be straightened out. Knowledge is power because it is certain, and certainty is strength. Perception is temporary. Our perception of the world, since it is an attribute of our beliefs in space and time, is subject to either fear or love.
True perception is the basis for knowledge, but knowing is the affirmation of truth which is beyond perception. To recognize means to “know again. All of our difficulties stem from the fact that we do not recognize ourselves, our brothers and sisters, or God”.
To perceive the truth is not the same as to know it. When we truly know something, we do not question it. The first step in undoing illusions is to question them. The miracle provides us with the correct answer to illusions.
Knowledge is timeless because certainty is not questionable. We know when we have ceased to ask questions. The Bible tells us to know ourselves, or to be certain. Certainty is always of God and does not require action on our part. Knowledge comes from the altar within and is timeless because it is certain.
Knowledge preceded both perception and time and will ultimately replace them. That is the real meaning of “Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end” and “Before Abraham was I am”. Perception can and must be stabilized, but knowledge is stable. “Fear God and keep His commandments” becomes “Know God and accept His certainty”.
If we attack error in another, we will hurt ourselves. Attack is always made upon a stranger. It is only because we have made our brother or sister a stranger that we are afraid of them. There are no strangers in God’s creation. God knows His children with perfect certainty.
He created us by knowing us. He recognizes us perfectly. When we do not recognize each other, we can not recognize God Our Creator.
