For the purpose of trying to make the
arrangement permanent, this might be a very good time for all
European Union citizens to put some peaceful and lawful
pressure on their elected representatives, to see to it that
Article 7 of the EU CHARTER OF FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS is
properly supported and enforced?
Though very few EU citizens appear to be aware of it at
the present time -- including, however amazing it might seem,
almost all senior EU lawyers and politicians? -- Article 7 of
the CHARTER OF FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS OF THE EUROPEAN UNION, which,
as far as I know, came into full force when the Lisbon Treaty
entered into full force in 2009, very clearly states:
"Everyone has the right to respect for his or her private
and family life, home and communications."

'Also, Article 8.1 of the CHARTER states: "Everyone has the right to the protection of personal data concerning him or her"; and, in addition Article 11.1 consists of the following text: "Everyone has the right to freedom of expression. This right shall include freedom to hold opinions and to receive and impart information and ideas without interference by public authority and regardless of frontiers".'
All three excerpts (in quotes above) are contained in the above-mentioned registered letters sent to Alan Shatter TD and Pádraig Mac Lochlainn TD on March 3rd 2014.
