Article V

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.

The states have in at least twelve instances proposed a article V Constitutional Convention, however in no instance has congress responded. What makes anyone think the present push will be any different?
Of course we could vote out over six years every present member of either house. However that is not likely without at least two new major parties.
The Tea Party has presented us with another solution. Of course that is to allow the corporate world to enslave us. Doing away with government other then what is necessary to enforce their point of view on everyone.
A better solution is what the Arab Spring has shown us, peacefully shutting down government by peaceful demonstrations. That would take everyone not liking our corporate bought government to get up and hit the streets.

A final solution I have not seen others put forward is a people generated constitutional convention. Do what the first Constitutional convention did before but not by rich people trying to ensure their power and wealth would be preserved This time do it with people meeting and putting forth a people centered constitution. Getting it ratified and replace the present government with one that really represents people instead of corporations and banksters.

What solutions do you want to see happen?
