A Patriot's Work Is Never Done

You see, I found out what many people all over the country were learning--that 9/11 wasn't all we had been told it was, and in fact was likely a state-sponsored event.  This led to the realization that the very system which my wealth was built upon was about to sink.  I knew it would sink.  I knew it couldn't be any other way.  I knew this because of my faith in our nation's founding principles, Christian teachings and a sense that we are all connected--that my successes and failures would affect others -- and visa-versa.

Out of that realization, my single focus was to find a rock upon which I could build a new life.  At the time, my life revolved around parties --  I literally 'partied for a living.'  I also had a lot of experience in sales, yet I knew that even I would have a tough time selling a 9/11 truth [$#!+] sandwich -- no matter its packaging.  Even the french version of "9/11 was a coup d' etat" would be unpalatable for most, and no one, except perhaps my own mother -- would buy it.

Having lived in Columbus, Ohio for  my entire life, I understood the thinking of my fellow Central Ohioans.  I myself voted for George W. Bush -- twice.  Given my background, I thought, "maybe if we throw a 'different' kind of party, we could somehow get around to 9/11 truth."

I found inspiration in the Boston Tea party.  I set out to hold one, but since I still hadn't found a single person in my area to buy my 9/11 truth $#!+ sandwich, I tried to organize a Tea party in Boston.  I had never organized parties anywhere that I had no contacts in, so it was a real challenge on many levels.  I contacted many leaders in the truth and peace movements, but I soon learned that just because someone was an activist for peace, didn't mean that he or she had "bought" 9/11 truth.   I also learned that this journey was going to be even more difficult than I had previously anticipated, yet I was pleased at the responsiveness of 9/11 speakers and how many had agreed to come--at their own expense-- to be the program at the party.

There was only one problem.  I couldn't find any group who would commit to attend the event.  Finally, after months of planning, I thought it would be a failure and I reluctantly canceled my reservation for Faneuil Hall.

Then, something most remarkable happened.  A new acquaintance of mine--a Vietnam Veteran who was the first 9/11 truth-friendly activist I had met in the Central Ohio peace scene, e-mailed me "something that I might be interested in".  It was an amazing website for a 9/11 Tea Party in Boston!  It was even being held on the same day I had planned!  It was like a love letter from God, saying, "you're on the right track.  There are people who can help you, and I will reveal them to you."

That activist introduced me to someone local who also was impassioned about 9/11.  I had only known her for about two weeks, when I learned about the party that was to take place in Boston and asked  her to go with me to attend the 9/11 Truth Tea Party.  After repeated assurances to her that I wasn't actually a mass murderer, she agreed to go, we were able to find airfare for less than $150.  She even had friends we could stay with.

It was meant to be, and thank g*d, we went. In one way or another, the 2006 Boston Tea Party for 9/11 Truth has influenced everything I have done since.

Just before we left, I was moved to write this speech.  Finally, the long-anticipated date of the event, December 16, 2006 arrived, and I did  something I had never done before--protest.  It was unseasonably perfect weather for the inspired event, and I met the most amazing people.

It was there that I met Dr. Kevin Barrett.  He was the first person I had ever heard speak about 9/11 truth as a moral imperative.  He talked about his organization, MUJCA (Muslem-Jewish-Christian alliance for 9/11 truth).  Dr. Barrett no sooner exited the stage when I rushed up to him, firmly grabbed him by each arm and said, "I need you to come to Columbus."  I wasn't going to take no for an answer, but much to my shock, and with little of the pitch I was prepared to make -- he said he would, and then, he did.

It was a relationship that has repeatedly reinforced my activism efforts, so when I learned that Dr. Barrett was going to move to Morocco, washing his hands of all of our nation's many problems, the loss was palpable -- not only to me personally, but for the restoration of our country.  Kevin Barrett has done so much for the advancement of 9/11 truth that I knew if the struggle was difficult with him, it would perhaps prove to be insurmountable without him.

Late last week, I reluctantly posted Dr. Barrett's "Dead Babies and the Death of the American Dream" article here on OpedNews.  I had been sitting on the writing for a week, but still in denial myself, I just couldn't make the news of Dr. Barrett leaving somehow more real by telling others.  Yet its message was important, it struck a deep nerve for me, and judging by its popularity, it struck a nerve for many.

I was starting to accept that the 9/11 truth movement we were going to lose Dr. Barrett and then -- like another love letter from God, I got an e-mail from Dr. Barrett.  Like so much of what he writes, it made me laugh and it made me cry.

This time, it was for joy.  THis is the most recent e-mail that I got about Dr. Barrett's plans for leaving the country.
Greetings truth-seekers,

I just got an email from Sherry Clark, editor of the Liberty Voice  informing me that my essay "Dead Babies and the Death of the American Dream" was the #1 story at OpEdNews. Alluding to my plans to emigrate to Morocco, Sherry said I was "going out on top."

Then Mike Palacek of NewAmericanDream emailed to say he'd be re-running the same story along with his interview of me. I replied to Mike and Sherry that well, actually, I might not be fleeing the country after all. Mike's reply: "Well, welcome back Kotter, dude." He's going to re-run "Dead Babies" tomorrow along with my statement that I'm staying right here in the dear old US of A.

So why am I not leaving the country? If you care, read on.

Why I'm not Leaving the Country
Kevin Barrett

(Obama Inspired "Hope" for "Change"? Nope -- It's My Wife)

A few days after I announced that I was leaving the country, my wife Skyped me from Morocco to tell me no, I would NOT be leaving the country.

"Your country needs you," she could have said. Or, "you can't leave now, at this decisive juncture." Or, "you must stay in the USA and keep up the struggle."

What she actually said was more like, "Morocco ain't it -- prices are up, temperatures  are down, the Europeans are buying up property, and Wal-Mart type big box stores are everywhere. It's getting to be like the USA without central heating." She was shivering with a bad case of the flu in her sister's 45-degree house. She explained that due to rising property values and the fall of the dollar, there was no way we could establish the kind of "come to Morocco to learn about Islamic spirituality" nonprofit business we'd had in mind. She wanted to return to the USA ASAP. So much for a romantic life in exile.

"But Fatna," I protested, "I just announced I was leaving the Zionist-controlled USA! After you say something like that, you HAVE to leave! If I stay, I'll get blacklisted and won't be able to work here ever again!"

"You're already blacklisted," she pointed out.

"Yes, but I'm blacklisted for speaking the truth about 9/11," I explained. "That isn't nearly as serious."

"How's that?"

"It's one thing to charge the president, the vice-president, and top military and intelligence leaders with blowing up the World Trade Center with thousands of people inside in order to launch criminal wars of aggression. It's a whole nother thing to criticize Israel. And if you point out that Zionist Jews and to a lesser extent Christians really DO control our Mideast policy, through their extreme overrepresentation in the journalistic, financial and political sectors...well, at that point you've really crossed the line. Even the 9/11 truth movement isn't ready for that much truth."

She said that was all very interesting, but she and the kids had decided they wanted to return to the USA, not set up residence in Morocco, c'est tout.

After thinking it over, I told her I was okay with that. Moving to Morocco had always been more her project than mine -- for many years she'd been pushing for the move, with special insistence during the past six months. I had been kind of looking forward to moving, but now I could be kind of looking forward to not moving.

I had been hoping to perfect my Arabic while telling Moroccans what they already know: 9/11 was an inside job, the Palestinian cause is just, we need to shut down the empire and eliminate the interest-based money system and so on. Now I guess I'll have to go back to saying it in English to a country that mostly doesn't want to hear it.

Anyway, it's great to be back. It feels almost like I never left.
