Nationwide, some nine million children are uninsured. The bill at issue is expected to provide coverage for four million of them, including many in Florida. The president's proposal wouldn't provide enough funding to maintain coverage for the 6.6 million children now in the program. How fiscally responsible is that when local communities end up paying the tab for uninsured children?
