Open Discussion Thread: Is Congress merely "Caving" or are they deliberately converting the USA to a dictatorship?

An open discussion thread and a suggestion about how we can get the bad apples tossed out of Congress.

::::::::

My own conclusion is that Congress wants power and money, and that they are quite deliberately converting us to a dictatorship. Because too much unconstitutional legislation has been passed to explain it in any other way, at least in my mind.

However, I could be wrong and I am interested in your thoughts about this. Please comment below.

Either way, what do you think is the solution? How can we get the bad apples out of Congress?

I suggest part of the solution, and a good start, is for citizens to research the Congressional voting record and expose it....in letters to the editor, chain emails, posting it to blogs, dialing in to radio talk shows, asking others to spread word and blog/journal/email....

When the American public knows who voted for which bill, and what the contents of those "laws" are, then Congresspeople won't stand a chance of maintaining their seat in office.

That is, if the information goes mainstream.

Okay, it may not get that far, but at least we can get the ball rolling.

Please start journaling and spreading word about YOUR local Congressperson's voting record.

I also suggest writing to Moveon.org, Credo, True Majority, et al asking them to spread word about the individuals' voting records, with requests that members spread word in any way they think is effective.

Thank you all for your help and for posting below! With best wishes, Kathryn Smith

This quote summarizes the nature of my concerns and the content of personal experiences which stir my activism: "Necessity is the plea for every infringement on human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves". --Paul (more...)
