Ask your Representative to Co-Sponsor the State Secrets Protection Act, H.R. 984
On Wednesday, February 11, 2009, the State Secrets Protection Act of 2009 (H.R. 984) was introduced to narrow the scope of the "state secrets" privilege. This essential bill requires a court to make an independent assessment of any government state secrets claim. And it allows victims of government wrongdoing to seek justice without running into a wall of secrecy.
Please write your Representative and local papers.

No Crime on My Dime! STOP torture and cover-ups thereof!
Common assumptions about terrorist detainees is that they are guilty until proven innocent. It is also commonly assumed that torture works. This article rebuts those assumptions, asking for proactivity from you, just ten minutes a week will do, and spreading the phrase around nation-wide:"NO CRIME ON MY DIME!" Thank you for your help.

Effective Activism and the Feeling of Ineffectiveness
We all have, as Rob Kall pointed out, learned helplessness under the Bush administration. Here are a few key things that will really work, and where our voice really will be heard. The grassroots is more alive than it ever has been, and letters to the editor are proven to be very effective.
Hope for the Economy from Obama's Own Mouth
The Washington Post's report about Obama's statement that the economy "will get worse before it gets better" cuts through other media-spun fear hype. Look here to see the true context of his statement and draw hope. Obama's plan for the economy is linked here, which includes new green energy jobs, penalizing fraudulent lending as a criminal act, providing aid for housing and education, more....
Why Reducing, Reusing and Recycling Really *Does* Help the Environment
Every ton of paper recycled a year saves 17 trees and 7000 gallons of water. According to the U.S. EPA, methane is the second largest source of greenhouse gas in the atmosphere, and landfills account for 37% of methane gas output. By reducing and recycling properly organic materials, including paper, we can divert them from landfill, thereby reducing anaerobic decomposition and the production of methane gas.
Yes we can!
Food for the Soul? Yup, Every Day!
Yes, I think there is food for the body and food for the soul. And I really believe that we need to get some daily soul food. To "Just Say No" to drugs, to any bad habits won't ever work, because nature abhors a vacuum. In order to successfully "Say No", we need to be saying "yes, yes, yes" to lots of good things in life.

The Art of Effective Activism: Advice from an International Trainer!
Yes! It was an international trainer of activists, specializing in the art of self-presentation, how we are perceived in writing, and in political strategy, who offered me the following tips which I will now share with you. Please circulate this widely, to help us all create the "Change" we so dearly want to see! Thank you.

Economic worries? Put those Halloween pumpkins to good use!
Well on election day this is perhaps not the best timing for me to have chosen: Sorry in advance. But then again, Halloween does not come every day, and neither does the opportunity to have a healthful and tasty five or six dinners costing about $5 for all of them combined! Plus the seeds are self-renewing: Pass them on to your neighbors as a message of hope!
Why Cueing in Congress and their Aides can Save America
Gag orders. Press black-out. Lying Legislative Aides. "State secrets" and "national security" invocations. No time to read bills because of always being on the road or in Congressional meetings....how can Congress possibly be aware of the amount of abuses which are occurring? How can their Aides know?
That's where we citizens come in. We must cue them in, and (very importantly) in the most fact-based way.

Who is on the FBI "terrorist" list?
For a comprehensive list of who is on the ACLU's list of FBI spyfiles, check this out and see the patterns of those who are dubbed "terrorists", the worst criminals of this country:

ACLU: Know Your Rights: What To Do if Stopped (or abused) by Police
During these times with the RNC-related police free speech Thug-a-thons going on, it is good for us to know what our rights are, and what they aren't. It's also good to have advice, from a top-respected legal source, as regards self-conduct in relationship to the police, to assure a better (and a legal) outcome.

Free Speech ReThuglicans
If the art of "getting through" to the sleeping masses is not by facts but instead it's by wordsmithing, then here is a suggestion:
FBI/police ordered to curtail protests: Explains Amy Goodman's arrest?
See an actual FBI document instructing police to crack down on lawful dissent. Hence Amy Goodman's arrest! See also a video of the unconstitutional incarceration of our nation's cream-of-the-crop journalist, sign a petition, and read about the solution. Please join the conversation about the solutions you propose, and pass word along widely! Thank you.

ACLU: FBI ordered to curtail protestors; & Amy Goodman's arrest
Light is shed on the arrest of Amy Goodman and Democracy Now! photographers at the Republican National Convention, for the crime of giving news coverage to protestors. The ACLU posts an actual FBI document for public viewing, linked here, which instructs the FBI to crack down on protestors and peaceful dissenters. What can we do? See the ideas here in this article and pass them on. Thank you for your help to take back America!

Impeachment blockading excuse: Fear ye, fear ye the terrorists! WHO are they? Read and see:
If politicians are saying the fear of terrorism is reason NOT to impeach, then it's time to get the real facts about who is officially targeted as "terrorists" by the Bush Administration----on the public radar. Check out these links, the actual declassified FBI document posted here, and see for yourself who the "terrorists" really are! Let's get word out to help impeachment along! THank you.
Leaked "reports" about secret Congressional meeting may be a hoax
The so-reported "leak" from Congresspeople about the contents of the secret Congressional meeting in March is based on theory, not fact. News reports and Dennis Kucinich confirm this. Check it out. THe meeting probably was about the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, and not about FEMA camps or the conversion of US currency to the Amero, as rumored.

The Psychology of Activism
Following Rob Kall's request for testimony about what activist experiences we have had which have worked, as well as which have not, I am here to tell you about both situations in my activism.
Here's How to Side-Step the Warrantless Wiretapping:
Since the telecom immunity bill was passed in Congress, against all Constitutional law, we the people now have to take matters into our own hands.
Wherever there is a big problem, there is a simple solution:
Sign up with phone and Internet companies which will not wiretap without court warrant.
Fortunately, new telecom immunity does not render Congress immune from lawsuits + applies to civil cases, not criminal ones.

Offense alert: A Word about "Amerikans" and "Germans"
Germans are deeply embarrassed and remorseful about the Holocaust. To use the word "Amerikan" and say that someone "Votes like a good German" for war, is a confession of ignorance and comes across as hate speech, even if that is not the intent.
Back to the Land and the Fishing Pole?
Even if we end up in an economic depression, things may not be as bad as the movie in our head tells us. And we will somehow be taken care of. Here is a hope-talk and an open discussion thread: What ideas do you have for surviving an economic depression, if it should come? Please let us know and let's brainstorm together! Thank you for sharing the solution.

NEW Action Plan to Stop War with Iran and Move Impeachment Along!
Here is a strategy for how to get the mainstream press jealous and to scoop the story of impeachment-related matters. Put pressure on Congress to impeach, by the strategy here which will convince them that (For their own best interest) they'd better hop to it, even if they are bought off. The key is not to go through the bought-off Congress directly, but to circumvent and put pressure on in other ways: Check this out!

Congress, must We the People PAY to fund our own abuse?
An open letter to Congress telling them we are going to unseat them all for violating their oath of office to uphold, protect and defend the Constitution. Several pointed questions are asked, with a public response demanded: Please copy/paste the questions and send them to your local editor, demanding a public response from YOUR US Congressperson. Thank you for your help to get the fascists unseated!
Diane Feinstein's auto-reply to the new telecom immunity bill
Diane Feinstein's emailed letter concerning the new telecom immunity bill, the false claim that to not pass it would increase our vulnerability to terrorism, and other matters which should be of concern. To oust her from public office, please compare her statement with Russ Feingold's and expose her unconstitutional agenda to the public, in letters to the editor. Thanks!

Return to Hand Counted Paper Ballots? Yes, Faster than Ever, Please!
A rebuttal to the Christian Science Monitor's article about hand-counted paper ballots "plugging" for mechanized voting. I base my assertions here on having served alongside election reform authority Victoria Collier plus several computer programmers on an election reform think tank. I also have included a widely-publicized election reform proposal which I am asking you to please circulate. Thank you!

Hand Counted Paper Ballots? Yes, faster than ever, please!
A direct rebuttal to the Christian Science Monitor's claims that hand-counted paper ballots are more corruptible than mechanized vote counting. I base my facts here on service in an election reform think tank alongside computer programmers and election reform authority Victoria Collier, whose work is highly praised by Bev Harris. An election reform proposal is included: Please pass word along. THank you.
Open Letter to Moveon.org, ACLU, and more
Congress is deliberately working to convert us to a dictatorship. Acting as a team with the Bush Administration, they are sending us curveball after curveball, a calculated strategy which is designed to make us give up. If we don't tackle the problem at the root, it will only get worse. Petitions and signatures are not working: It's time for a new course of action. Here they are: See article. Please write these entities! Thx.

Some things I'd love to see on the public radar: Please write more articles about these topics!
Thoughts about commonly overlooked journalistic topics which we as on-line journalists can help to get back on the public radar. These matters will be key to reclaiming America. Please add your own suggestions to the list! And please consider writing articles of your own about the topics listed here. Included are many links about civil liberties violations, FBI documents, websites etc. Thank you ever so much for all your help

Gas Prices: A Blessing in Disguise?
Blessings often come in disguises. And if we can see the roses within the thorns, we will be happy instead of just plain ol' feeling the pain of our pricked fingers, or psyches. So let's "reframe" This matter in our heads, right now..My bet is that precisely because of the increased gas prices, things are going to be more community-oriented and more locally-based than ever before. We may become part of the solution, at last.
It's time to sue Congress
We only have one hope left to restore our Constitution: Oust members of Congress who are corrupt. There are many easy ways to get them out: Have a peek at this for ideas! Thank you.

Is impeachment "off the table" due to Congress' voting record?
if they impeached either Bush or Cheney, so much would come to light about Congress' own complicity in Bush and Cheney's crime rings, that they would be impeaching themselves along with the two murderers holding nuclear weapons in their hands.
We need a communal brainstorm about how to get impeachment back on the table.

Please write to Gwen Ifill: 35 Articles of Impeachment Censored
Washington Week in Review gave news coverage to the Habeas Corpus ruling in the Supreme Court, but not even one word about Kucinich's 35 articles of impeachment. Please write Gwen Ifill and tell her you are going to boycott the show, while spreading word on the Internet, in emails, etc. Thank you!

The most important thing we can do right now
Things we can do to get word out about Bush's impeachment. What's at stake=life and death. It may be very worth taking one day off work to devote a few hours to this important work. THank you for your help.
Pep Talk for Impeachment Outreach
To those of us skeptics on this forum who are saying that Kucinich's 35 articles of impeachment "will never go anywhere", let's be reminded of a few facts:
Times have changed. Thanks to our mainstream journalists, we now have the torture issue and the Valerie Plame case on the public radar. Therefore, pro-impeachment sentiment is bound to be on the rise. Here a few activist strategies which work: See the article!

Denial is the Great Enabler
The truth hurts, and the subconscious mind will do anything it takes to shield itself from emotional pain. Is this why activists end up being labeled "The Kooks" ? Could this be the reason why the greater American sector still has its head in the sand ? Most importantly, how have you, dear reader, dealt with this denial in an effective way? Please post: This could be valuable information to all of us! Thanks.

California Secretary of Agriculture's E-mail Letter re. Aerial Pesticide Spraying Program
To think that this form of chemical warfare--spraying a 250 mile radius of urban areas with pesticides from the air--is confined to California alone, may be a very dangerous cognitive distortion. Please write your newspaper editors, the California Secretary of Agriculture and Gov. Schwartzenegger. Please ask your physicians to respond to the false claims that 3,000 medical cases have no connection to the spraying program. Thx.

An Open Letter to Bank of America
If someone was standing behind you at the ATM machine, and saw a large check being deposited, they could....copy the name of the maker of the check, write down their address and phone number, and show up at their door. They could stalk me or you just for depositing it. These new machines, by blowing up the image of the deposited checks so enormously large, are an invitation to identity theft and stalking. Class action suits?

An Open Letter to Earthlink and the Public
It's time we do something which will actually result in the stopping of warrantless wiretapping without probable cause. The thing to do is to write open letters to the offender + the public. This will result in business losses which they don't want. I am posting this letter for public comment: Please post your comments liberally to this message, + I will show the results to Earthlink. And please write letters of your own. Thx!

A Positive Agenda: Healthy or Unhealthy for the Progressive Cause?
Is our "positive agenda" really working for us where blocking impeachment is concerned? Is it possible that the Progressive cross-sector against impeachment and for "positivity" influences the House's refusal to impeach? Here a look at the thought process informing the Progressive sectors who blockade impeachment. And especially, what the fall-out from that "positive" agenda may be.
Are the corporations, polls, and media collaborating to heist the election....to McCain?
With anti-war sentiment being as widespread as it is, it's hard to believe that McCain legitimately won the Republican nomination. Many additional things point--clearly and not as speculation-----to the involvement of the polls, media and corporations in wresting the election from the Progressives. What to do? There's LOTS we can do to unravel the plan. Here 'tis! (At the end of the article).

An Open Letter to California Secretary of State and the Registrar of Voters
Could the practice of separating ballots by party lines be a way to select which votes to toss out? After all, historically it's Democratic votes which are stolen. What about voting privacy when we are required to register by partisanship? Why should the government categorize us by our voting patterns? These are the questions in this letter. Please write similar open letters yourself.
