Delightful New "Medicare For All" Video And Fax Action Page, "I'm A Democrat, And I'm A Republican"
A couple weeks ago the Democratic Senate Committee put out a video called "I'm A Democrat, And I'm A Republican", begging us for more campaign contributions based on the premise that even 60 votes in their caucus is not enough to pass a decent bill. So we decided to produce a series of our own issue advocacy satire videos, to propagate the truth that NEITHER the Democrats NOR the Republicans want real health care reform.

Obama's New, Improved Leech Therapy
(6 comments)
In last Wednesday's speech, President Obama sounded reasonable and compassionate and articulate. But look at what he actually did, and the effect it will actually will have: Obama has clearly aligned himself with the preservation of insurance profits, and in so doing he has destroyed any possibility of a functional health care system.

Obama's New "Improved" Leech Therapy
The sheer sappiness, even from progressives, of most of the commentary we've heard in the aftermath of President Obama's address to Congress this week on health care is truly breathtaking. Now we are going to tell you what really happened last Wednesday night.

Except That We WON'T Shut Up About Single Payer Health Care, No Matter What Senator 'More Police' Baucus Says
(6 comments)
Friends, there are rare moments of clarity when we the people can see through the veil of illusion designed to condition us into docile inaction.
There was such a moment this week, when Senator Max Baucus, chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, laughingly joked "we need more police", when one qualified doctor and lawyer after another stood up to protest their exclusion from the debate on health care.

The Senate LAUGHS About How Many Police It Takes To Silence The American People On Single Payer Health Care
(15 comments)
How many police does it take to silence the voice of the people?
That's a question a despot might ask in a totalitarian police state. But this week the Senate Finance Committee thought it was a hilarious joke as they ejected one brave activist after another, for protesting that not even one spokesperson for single payer health care was being allowed to sit at the hearing table.

Bush Special Prosecutor is Top Question for Obama
(18 comments)
For the second time now, President-Elect Obama has asked the American people, to come to his web site at Change.gov to ask and vote for questions, to help set the priorities for his administration, and the current the top-ranked question seeks a non-partisan Special Prosecutor to investigate the crimes of the Bush Administration.

Impeach Bush Before He Pardons Himself
(12 comments)
According to Seymour Hersh there is a conga line of insiders waiting
until January 20th to spill the beans on the gross criminality of the
Bush/Cheney administration. Waiting . . . because if they did it now
the two of them would be tarred and feathered on the way out the
door. And in case you had not figured it out yet, Bush is planning on pardoning himself, unless he is stopped first by impeachment.

Bush and Richard B. Cheney, cowritten by premier impeachment scholar Bruce Fein, dramatist Richard A. Lasser and this writer. This article includes a link to the full final script.

The THIRD Option (Systematic Primary Challenges)
What is it going to take for the majority of the American People to get the attention of Congress? In this piece we will propose the simple, necessary, and what should have been self-evident, answer to this question . . . there is one and only one message that members of Congress will ever actually heed, that their own seats are in jeopardy.

So They're Fond of Condemnations Are They? Let's Condemn the Entire Republican Leadership
(3 comments)
Once in a rare while a member of Congress will speak the plain truth without equivocation. This week Pete Stark stood up to accuse the president of the United States of having no conscience about the deaths of the thousands of valiant troops he sent on a criminal war mission, while at the same time stealing the medicines out of the mouths of babes.

Now Read The Truth: Lieberman-Kyl DEFANGED Because of YOU
(5 comments)
It has taken a couple days for the actual disposition of the Lieberman-Kyl amendment to leak out, but in FACT, the two most offensive paragraphs (3 and 4), which we were objecting to so strenuously as amounting to a declaration of war on Iran, were REMOVED IN THEIR ENTIRELY prior to the vote. Which means we WON.

Can We IMPEACH With Facebook® Alone?
As we look for opportunities to reach out to our fellow citizens with calls to action, we cannot help but notice that the fastest growing networked community on the internet is the Facebook web site. In large part this is because they have opened up their platform to member created applications, which in practical use makes their entire base of about 30 million participants accessible to the activism of each other.

The True THREAT Of Ann Coulter And Her Ilk
(10 comments)
Time and again Ann Coulter has demonstrated that she is an offensive speech scofflaw, and on that basis we call for a BAN on her appearance on national television. To the networks we say, "You know she is going to say something grossly offensive when you book her." And she rightly deserves to be shunned for that reason.

Now You Can Text "IMPEACH" to 30644 To Vote To Impeach Cheney
What we are asking concerned citizens to do next is start calling the various progressive radio shows and let them know that people can vote in the National Cheney Impeachment Poll. There is no reason why everyone in the country can't know how easy it is to call for our Constitution to be enforced.

A Libby Leniency Letter Received From SATAN
(1 comments)
The judge contemplating sentencing in the "Scooter" Libby case took the unusual step of ordering the letters pleading for leniency on his behalf to be published. But conspicuously missing was a letter from the Vice President himself, Dick Cheney. And then lo and behold, we were leaked a copy of one additional letter that had not been published with the rest . . .

Who Will Take Cindy Sheehan's Place As SPOKESPERSON?
To answer the question of who will take Cindy Sheehan's place as spokesperson, first we must ask who CAN take her place. What one person can do all the work of making policy change happen in America? The short answer is that NO one person flying solo can do that. Because democracy can only happen when each of us speaks for OURSELVES.

Harry, Nancy, SAY It Ain't So!
We are hearing reports that the Democrats are preparing to unilaterally surrender to Bush on the Iraq supplemental, despite a solid majority of the American people in favor of at least some kind of restraints on a war president run amok. If this is a trial balloon, or in part even a Republican trick to try to demoralize us, it didn't work. We're not demoralized, we're just angry.

99.34 Percent Say Cheney Should Be IMPEACHED. What Say You?
Please note that we are not asking people in the National Cheney Impeachment Poll whether people think he will be impeached,we are asking if he SHOULD be impeached.Everyone already knows that Cheney is guilty of every impeachable offense imaginable. Our only hurdle is to get people to actually admit it to themselves,to do their own duty,to save our democracy from its greatest threat ever...

If The Millstone (GONZALES) Were Around The Other Neck
For an administration in which utter smirking defiance of law and the will of the American people is the only operational mode, IMPEACHMENT is the only remedy. If the millstone were around the other neck, every right wing cable news pod person would be screaming for impeachment, not only for Gonzales, but for the whole lying, stealing, preemptive war murdering lot of them.

Slam Dunk Was Code For A CON JOB
(7 comments)
In his appearance on Meet The Press yesterday, George Tenet AGAIN confirmed that the purpose of the now infamous "slam dunk" meeting was to assess if they could SELL the war without just cause in Iraq to the American public. So, what Tenet MEANT by the words "slam dunk" was they were sure they would be able to stuff their cooked intelligence down our throats.

Mission IMPEACHABLE (The Cheney episode)
Good morning fellow citizens. Vice president Richard B. Cheney is known to have committed high crimes against the Constitution of the United States. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to speak out yourself in the National Cheney Impeachment Poll, which already has over 27,000 submissions, and to rally everyone else you can to do the same thing.

Domestic Peace Is Bad For The GUN Business
(2 comments)
Having more guns in this country in the hands of people who can't handle them doesn't make us more safe. It makes us all LESS safe. The overriding federal problem is that as long as there are loose jurisdictions from state to state, city to city, guns will be oversold where the laws are weak, to make mayhem there, and bring it to everywhere else.

On HATE Speech And Freedom Of Speech
(7 comments)
There have been a rash of incidents lately getting national attention, involving people like Ann Coulter, Michael Richards, and now Don Imus. And what makes them especially notable is 1) the fact that people are finally starting to call out those who in traffic in hate speech, 2) the amount of discussion the most recent incident has triggered, and 3) the persistence of talk as to what should be done about it.

Who Has The COURAGE To Press For An End To The Iraq Occupation Now?
With possibly one exception, the rest of our would be presidents of the United States would be hard pressed to put together a functional backbone of an Iraq policy. Instead of triangulating speeches, posturing and jockeying for position, they should be bravely stepping forward without equivocation to call for an immediate end to the occupation of Iraq. Who of them will speak out, even as we ourselves need to keep speaking out?

Let Your Phone Calls Be A Show Of FORCE Against Attacking Iran
Don't let anyone ever tell us again our voices are not heard. Today the Senate REJECTED an attempt to strip the Iraq withdrawal time line from the current supplemental, just as you called for them to do. Before Congress takes a spring recess, there is one more urgent call we must make, to tell the Senate to pass an amendment being offered by new Senator James Webb to head off a NEW war with Iran.

Be The PARTICIPATORY Democracy That Brings Our Troops Home
Now as debate on the Iraq war/occupation shifts to the Senate the difference between how many votes we can get to support a proposed 120 day start for withdrawal, or not, is how many of us will pick up the phone right now. We know that Bush is going to make a least one statement a week, to try to bully us all in the other direction. Why should we all not do the same thing?

Tell Congress To Put Ending The War BACK On The Table
(2 comments)
Usually when we contact our members of Congress our great challenge is to get policy hostile Republicans to understand that even in THEIR districts we have enough people opposing them to threaten their reelection. But we certainly expect our OWN representatives to listen to us. This may in fact be the ONLY meaningful chance we will have in the next two years to keep from inheriting the military policy disaster in Iraq.

Tell Congress To Support The Kucinich IMPERATIVE For Impeachment
(3 comments)
Minutes ago the U.S. Senate AGAIN failed to exercise meaningful oversight for the national suicide which is our policy in Iraq. Members of Congress must stop running away from actually restraining the abuse of executive power. And the only remedy is for us to renew again and again our call for Congress to impeach at the most mercifully swift speed ALL those who have so grievously harmed we the people.

The Creeping Right Wing Radio PUTSCH
(1 comments)
Now that progressive talk is having real political impact the right wing is desperately looking for a way to slow it down, corrupt it, chip away at it, anything. And yesterday in Los Angeles they canned the Harrison on the Edge show, one of the best progressive activists we had, with absolutely no advance warning whatsoever.

Mr. and Mrs. America buy a new car, and it's NOT an Augmentation

ARREST Bush's Escalation In Iraq With Your Voices
A couple days ago we called for preemptive resolutions to oppose the unpopular Bush escalation proposed for Iraq. There are now at least two measures pending to do just that. We must raise every possible voice to call for support of the S. 233 and H. Res 41 right now.

The All New And Improved Staying The Course, Now With More LIES
There are resolutions possibly pending to demand redeployment of the troops or to cut off funding for the war. We would support any of them. The problem is Bush will laugh off any attempt by Congress to tell him how to run HIS war. Therefore we propose strategically that there FIRST be a resolution opposing an increase in troops in Iraq, to draw a line in the sand with maximum support for finally CONFRONTING him.

Say NO To Bush's Last Stand
(6 comments)
Before the coming of George Bush and his shadow president Dick Cheney, the greatest military blunder in American History was thought to be Custer's Last Stand. The primary difference between him and what Bush has done is that Custer did not wreck the ENTIRE U.S. Army, Custer did not mortgage our whole economy for generations to come, and unlike Bush, he actually had the courage to enter mortal combat himself even one time.

Take Their Troop Surge In Iraq And SHOVE IT
(2 comments)
The Bush administration has now coined a new slogan for "stay the course," in utter and diffident defiance of the will of American people. They are trying to sell us on yet one more "surge" in Iraq. And it would be a surge alright, but only in casualities, cost and insurgency.

The President's IGNORING Tour
When our founders drafted our Constitution, the thing they feared most was that a despot would arise to arrogate dictatorial power, which is why they made repeated references to the procedure of impeachment as the ultimate check and balance. And what Bush and Cheney have given us if a textbook example of what they strove so mightily to ensure against as our heritage.

A Proposal for Election REFORM by Coordinated State Ballot Initiatives
We propose opening up a collateral front by putting together as many state ballot initiative campaigns as possible where laws can be passed directly on to the books. (1 comments)
In response to his indefensible handling of a known child predator in their midst, Dennis Hastert whined today that liberals were out to "get to me". Isn't that just so precious? Little Denny Hastert is now the REAL victim in all of this, not the children exposed to the abuse of Mark Foley because of Hastert's own complicity. Hastert has got to go.

PREEMPT The Insanity Of Attacking Iran
(7 comments)
As the general election approaches, we hear more and more speculation about what the "October Surprise" will be THIS time.

Filing F.E.C. Complaints Against ABC/Disney Made EASY
The perverse obstinance of ABC/Disney in plowing ahead with their political hit piece on the Democratic party, "The Path to 9/11", will likely not only subject them to defamation suits from Bill Clinton himself, and from his cabinet officials that they smeared, they deserve to be prosecuted by the Federal Election Commission for campaign finance law violations. TWO TIMING JOE
If there is one quality that the American people find despicable in a politician, it is someone who tries to have it both ways. Something approaching a million mostly NON-citizens spoke out this weekend and the Judiciary Committee instantaneously surrendered on HR 4437. What the hell kind of progressive are you if you are not speaking out to censure George Bush?

Is There Not ONE Senator Who Will Even TRY To Stop Alito?
The entire country is waiting for one true leader to take the action of conscience to start a filibuster of Samuel Alito for the Supreme Court. Please call your senators today and challenge them on why they have not done so already.

To Stand Alone If Necessary, That's What COURAGE Is

We now know that a filibuster of Alito can be a reality. We just need to find the courage within ourselves to keep calling and writing our senators so they know what their people want them to do.

A NIGHTMARE on First Street unless we Filibuster Alito
Isn't it a little early for Bill Frist to gloat about their "nightmare" nominee, as he himself describes Alito? We believe in the end the nightmare will be on his street.

Stop Being A Whiny Defeatist and STOP ALITO
What we must do to defeat all Alito is simply to DO something about it. Talk has no value whatsoever unless the person you are talking TO is a United States senator.

IF YOU WANT THE TROOPS HOME WE MUST SUPPORT "TROOPS HOME" CANDIDATES
We put a call out to all candidates who want to win, and Steve Young, fighting for the people in normally conservative Orange County, CA, in a special house election coming up Dec. 6, took us up on our offer to create action pages for him on his own campaign site.

No Strict CONTORTIONIST For The Supreme Court
The American people are beginning to speak out in a way that has gotten the attention of Congress. We must put our foot down as the true majority to say that NO conservative whatsoever is acceptable for the O'Connor Supreme Court seat.

Congress and the Culture of CRUELTY
With a national budget hemorrhaging red ink, even the profligate pork barrel princes in Congress had to do something. They propose to cut the last ropes of what remains of the social safety net for those hurt most by their policies, apparently to pave the way for even MORE reckless tax injustice.

The Department of TORTURE
There are still dark forces at work trying to subvert the intent of McCain amendment prohibiting torture, the language of which must survive the conference committee with the House of Representatives.

There is a storm of historic proportions headed for the United States, one that will make Hurricane Wilma (also en route) look like a small splash in the pond by comparison. Washington, D.C., brace yourself for a flood of indictments.

Bush nominates HAM sandwich for Supreme Court and Harry Reid bites
The Washington Post story headline says it all, "A Deep Dedication to the President." The nomination of Harriet Miers to replace Sandra Day O'Connor is a non-starter. It does not even deserve serious consideration.
