When the Gun Replaces the Rope and the Lynch Mob Becomes One Man Thank the Lord, at least, that we have so evolved as a people that the history of the lynch mobs has become impolite, the very last lynching so 1968 ago that even a Google search fails to identify the name of that last victim on record. Anybody know who he or she was? Does anybody really care? I mean, we don't travel for miles around to enjoy and picnic around such entertainments anymore....

John Garamendi Vs Barack Obama? I first became aware of California Democratic Representative John Garamendi when he made a brief appearance on MSNBC's The Ed Show last Thursday night. He emphatically demanded no cuts to social security even in the unlikely passage of tax increases on the rich; that it was the Wall Street barons who have ripped this country off and should, therefore, make all the sacrifices needed to spur jobs and restore the economy.

The 11 'Human Resources' Were People, Too We, at least, were able to move on with our lives; unlikely to grieve for the bit-players who were obliterated by the monster, let alone try to remember their names lest we face years, like the families of the eleven killed, of being unable to forget. Let us choose to know and remember not only the names of the eleven, but learn something about each one so that the number 11 fails to disguise their humanity.
