A Simple "Warning" for Bush and Cheney

by Timothy V. Gatto     Page 1 of 1 page(s)

Tell A Friend

I’m getting mixed messages on Iran. I know we now have three carrier strike forces off the coast of Iran, but that isn’t anything new. One leaves, its two, another comes in, it’s three again. I know in his heart of hearts (or what substitutes a heart in a man that really doesn’t have one). Bush wants to strike Iran. Once that happens, it won’t be like when he invaded Iraq, this country won’t put up with it, it will mean mass demonstrations and fighting in the streets. People will get killed and not everyone getting killed will be in Iran. There will be rivers of blood right here in this country. Mark my words.

Bush and that fat ass chickenhawk Cheney might believe that Americans are going to give him a pass for starting another war, but he should think again. He should pick up a history book and read about the New York Riots that happened during the Civil War right here when people got sick of seeing rich people pay their way out of the draft and the Army picked up poor city boys and were throwing them in the trains bound for glory. The New York Mob went up 5th Avenue and wrecked everything they could. They even went to the Boss of Tammany Hall and likely killed him and his family. The Federal troops had to come out en masse to stop the riots. There were dead soldiers and demonstrators all over Manhattan.

Bush might believe in his deluded mind that conquering Iran might raise his standing as President from the gutter that it’s in, but it won’t, all it will do is eventually lead to his arrest and his incarceration. Attacking sovereign nations for political reasons is not something that Americans take kindly too, at least in this last century. People have had enough of Bush and Cheney. The Democratic standard bearers like Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama can stand shoulder to shoulder with these neo-nazi’s and it won’t help. We can see the writing on the wall with these so-called “anti-war” Democrats and we find their credentials wanting. They are part of the problem, definitely not part of the solution.

I’m telling you this Mr.President, don’t attack another country. There is nothing here that warrants another war. Pakistan has nuclear weapons and Musharif is on the verge of fighting a civil war there because a good number of Pakistani’s want to make Pakistan an Islamic Republic and implement Islamic Sharia laws. You accepted it when they went nuclear, you didn’t attack North Korea when it developed nukes. Why Iran? Is it because of AIPAC and the other strong Jewish lobbies? Since when had Israel dictated American foreign policy? I know that since the Republican right has been in power they have practically had veto power on all that goes on in the Middle East.

Forget about Iran Bush. You and Cheney had better start hiring some good lawyers so that you can stay out of jail once you are out of power. You have done nothing right since taking office and the naked truth is that most Americans don’t trust you anymore. Try to undo some of the things that you have done instead of making matters worse. You started one civil war in Iraq. Don’t try to start another one here.

Though Bush&Cheney are increasingly hated by Americans,

the current level of political consciousness & mobilization in this country is so low, that if the White House criminals nuked Iran next week, there'd be no "uprising" here whatsoever. All professional sports events & TV shows would doubtless continue as scheduled, the stock market would probably go UP, & the corporate media coverage of the nuking would portray it approvingly.

They'd round up a few congresspersons of both parties who'd go on camera saying that the president's action was very courageous; that it was a "tough decision" that had to be made in order to protect the American people. There'd be a few demonstrations which the media would ignore, then business would continue as usual. Pelosi & Reid would say that they were "concerned" about some aspects of the president's decision, but that all Americans should now pull together to support our troops & rally behind the president.

The Civil War riots in NYC belonged to an era before television & PR techniques had arisen to drug & stupify the population. Today's American population has had many vital characteristics of human beings bred out of them. They have no more ability to stand up for their rights or organize resistance to tyranny than a flock of FosterFarms chickens. Real human beings with any shreds of dignity would have rioted a long time ago; but "consumers" are not full-fledged human beings. They look similar (except for a glazed vacant look in the eyes). But they're really just a sort of zombie version of the real thing.

American who wants to be proud of this country. Who wants to be able to enjoy life again. Who wants to feel something other than pain, heartache, and total sadness for the atrocities that 'we' as a country have perpetrated on others and on our own. If it smells like shit, it must be shit!We must insist on a new investigation into 9/11.  So far, everything this administration has said has been lies......now we need some truth.

I would like to disagree with you..........

BUT I CAN"T!  You are right.  The public is being dumbed down.  I do not understand how every day they watch the news and know that bushco lies about everything! They know this, and yet nothing happens.  Nothing is true that comes out of the media anymore. LIES LIES LIES and no one cares.

There will be another false flag attack of some kind, like 911, and they will blame Iran, and it will not even enter the brain dead heads of most of the population that bushco lied abour Iraq/911, and he is doing it again regarding Iran.  Somehow, it will be justified, and 'we' can go back to sleep.

I don't know what it will take.  Sometime I wonder if its the chemicals/drugs in our food that is pacifying everyone, or the spraying in the skys.  Something has killed us.  We have become zombies, and I do not know what it will take to wake em' up.

I can only hope that a miracle will happen and we will NOT attack another country to enrich those lying bastards who pretend to be our Government.

I can only wish, that somehow this can be stopped, I just don't know who can do it.....certainly not dems, as they are no different, and I feel its a one party system now, and that is really frightening..

I bet if all the TV's were taken away there would be a revolt.

peace and love

why not start where you can?

and simply  expalin to the Dems(!) that they will pay  with their very lives in case the Iran war starts.  Dems are easier to get and GOP surely will not protect them.

The US 'people' do not exist. But surely the crowd will follow the good leadership. Just one person to stand up  during the debates and say what I said above might be enough.

Re: A Simple "Warning" For Bush And Cheney

Get real man. The majority of lazy, spoiled, Americans won't do diddley squat. Not until these lose everything & then it will be to late.

I'm retired & 60 years old. Each day I get myself worked up signing petitions, emailing & calling elected reps & so on.

But when I see how few of us are concerned & actually fighting to keep our freedom, learning the truth of what is going on today in our country. I have to tell myself Americans are going to get what their selfish, self centered asses deserve.

Anyone still foolish enough to blindly follow a political party & not check out what & who they are voting for is a damn fool. There is no F'n excuse today when the majority have access to the Internet. They can check to see how each candidate has voted on issues. Americans can unite & walk out in the streets stopping everything in protest to our elected reps. But do they? HELL NO! What do they do? NOTHING!

Screw Dumb Ass Americans. They deserve to be kicked in the face by military boots & shot. They are nothing but blind sheep & should be slaughtered like sheep.

Wishing for Armadgeddon

If Cheney can get the government to attack Iran, then I think that "all hell will break loose" but not in the way you describe.

Feeding into the lazy and non-critical-thinking perception of the American public, drugged by television, is GREAT EXPECTATIONS AND GREED.

When oil hits $150 or $200 a barrell, as it will shortly after an attack on Iran that is followed by the sinking of ships in the Straits, gas will slowly edge towards $5 or $8 or $10 per gallon, and the price of everything else will be increased perportionately as a result of the new energy/transportation costs.

Americans notoriously act with their pocketbooks, and high gas prices will translate into PALPABLE anger on the part of the mass population, even those that don't normally get involved in politics.

Then, things will get REALLY interesting.

"Warning" for Bush and Cheney

Mr. Gatto: I enjoyed your article.

And I'll have to agree with CyberChas, if this nefarious cabal decides to risk an attack on Iran then all heck is going to break loose. Especially when gas prices (that's if there is any gas available) will soar way beyond $3.00 a gal. Then they'll be gas lines like there were in the 70's. But I believe it'll get much worse. I think Bush will call for Martial Law and that in itself is quite a scary thought because it doesn't have to be this way!

The American people had better awaken and quick from their deep sleep, and demand Impeachment of this evil crime family. It might already be too late.

Oh sure, you betcha

When Pigs Fly, the American People will wake up and do something about the government that is scamming them.  War?  I don't thing most Americans care how many die just so long as they do not have to look at it happening.  Ask any Budweiser drinker and you will hear the old BS about nuking them til they glow in the dark.  Like the Cowboy that posted earlier, I think Americans are in general WAY too stupid to breath.  51% of 'em, anyway.

Warning" for Bush and Cheney

Folks, living outside the U.S. allows one to have a much clearer unbiased view of the progress of this insane idea being persued by the leadership in the U.S.  I concur with the comments already made here, that any attack by the U.S. against Iran won't even raise a dust storm in the U.S. from it's citizens. Ever since my days in military service in Vietnam I've come to the conclusion, that unless the average U.S. Joe in the street safety/lifestyle is threatened, they really couldn't give a rat's arse what their Government does over seas, especially if there is a reflection of such action in their stocks and bonds they may hold. So if your waiting for action from that direction, you'll probably die of old age in the meantime.

However, it is time U.S. citizens did some research and honest self examination on this issue, researching archives from INTERNATIONAL resources, NOT American. Such research will reveal some pertinent FACTS.

The most important FACT, is that the U.S. military is just about dead in the water, especially it's ground pounders, even your very own military conceed this, therefore it becomes very clear military action against Iran cannot rely on the usual foot soldier.

The only other options open are TECHNOLOGICAL warfare via missiles/navy vessels and aircraft, sad to say, the short comings of these were demonstrated clear enough in Iraq even a blind man can see, no country can be subjugated by such an offensive, so what does that leave you ?

Nuklear (spelt wrong, just like Bush pronounces it)war fare, this requires no boots on the ground, Japan is an excellent example, drop just two and the countries begging to call it quits, and this thought is what's givin Chaney and Bush their continual hard on for Iran.  They believe droppin a few nucs will solve the problem for them and they'll go down in the history books as heroes. What is going to be used as the tinder to ignite this holocaust is anyone's guess, though Bush and his military and foreign officers are working overtime trying to blame their failure in Iraq on the actions of the Iranians, never mind that they have declared asymetric warfare against Iran anyway by financing and supporting the terrorist group PKK to wage war and terror against Iranians right this very minute.

The bait floating in the Gulf also is an awful temptation and sacraficial goat, deliberately placed there to tempt the Iranians after their deliberate provocation by the PKK and the U.S. against them. Should the first plane be sighted on Iranian radar,or the first bomb dropped, I firmly believe very few ships indeed in the Gulf would ever make it back home. OK, so the nucs rain down on Iran turning them into a glass parking lot, the U.S. navy it totaly destroyed during the conflagration, by American nuc explosions and Iranian missiles,I'd like someone to exlain to me, how during a nuclear attack, the navy in the gulf wouldn't be a victim of collateral damge from the same nuclear bombs ect used against the Iranians, I really would. As far as I know, nuclear bombs do not discriminate between the good guys or the bad, neither does radiation or fallout.

Anyway, the U.S.NAVY would no longer exist, Iran is a glass parking lot floating on a sea of oil and contaminated for years tp come,(how many money hungry workers in the U.S. would willingly go to Iran to get the oil pumpin under such conditions ?) Israel no longer exists collateral damage from Iran, Iraq is a waste land copped it from both, the Iranians and the Israelis, scratch the U.S. foot soldiers, they no longer exist, collateral damage.

The U.S. becomes a pharia state, black balled by every other country round the World, it's leaders sought for War crimes and genocide,it folks thirsting for revenge against their Govt for the loss of so many loved ones basicaly being sacraficed for personal gain, the World facing a nuclear winter, starvation and millions dying as a consequence.

Oh, sorry, I forgot, God's coming down and fixing everything up, making it all pristine again and taking the U.S. christians who believe fervently in the after life, to heaven to live happily ever after in his kingdom.(as long as it's an AMERICAN after life, other races don't count)

Makes me wonder though, what's the point of squirrelling away every dime they can lay their hands on, ripping off countries all over the World , making themselves rich beyond measure, if you can't take with you to heaven ?  Am I missing something here ? Or does God allow such ill begotten gains into his Kingdom ? But hang on a sec, WHY would you even need such ill begotten gains in HEAVEN in the first place ? Kinda defeats the purpose of heaven in my book.

So what's the POINT of it all ?

Coping with Despair

I like the spirit of Tim Gatto's piece, though I agree with others here that he is probably overly optimistic about the limited prospects for serious dissent and outrage from the brain-dead, television-addled masses in this Orwellian land where "public opinion" is shaped and crafted by and for the purposes of the Corporate Media (who are in cahoots with the regime).

So there is plenty of good reason for despair. Yet despair is self-validating--it is exactly what THEY want--for us to remain frightened and demoralized, even if we are no longer deluded by their fraudulent "war on terror."

As to What to Do--like all the rest of you, I haven't a clue. We the average citizens (now merely passive consumers) can do little to stop the juggernaut of this pernicious endgame currently being waged by the PNAC, the Oil Industry, the Corporate Elite, and the monstrous Bush-Cheney cabal that they installed in power against our collective will. We sit by helplessly and watch as they plot and carry out the destruction, first of Iraq, then of Iran, then...who knows?

One thing I do know, however, is that, despite their chutzpah, these shameless bastards are running scared. If they carry out their planned invasion of Iran, the global situation will rapidly become chaotic and uncontrollable...New alliances could form overnight between Europe, Russia, China, and India and Iran, to protect their access to middle-east oil and to capitalize on worldwide moral outrage against the US, which could find itself ostracized by the entire planet, as fuel prices begin their final, skyrocketing ascent, and OPEC shifts from the dollar to the Euro as the standard of currency in which oil is traded,  bringing a swift collapse to the US economy.

Bush will respond to such chaos, of course, by trashing the Constitution altogether and declaring martial law, then calling out his private army of born again goons (Blackwater) to carry out mass deportation and slaughter of everyone, (including all of us) who is on record as opposing this regime.

Will the American people stand for this Nazification of our country? I don't think so. As gas prices skyrocket, as jobs are lost and savings are wiped out, as random violence, hunger, and destitution ensue, those enforcing Bush's martial law will be overwhelmed by the angry, well-armed mobs opposing them...then people may yet discover the most powerful resource, the most potent "secret weapon" of all--that is, each other.
