The John McCain-Bill Cunningham Con

Tell A Friend

Bill Cunningham got punked.
At least that how the story's been sold.
Backstory...
Cincinnati talk show host Bill Cunningham was booked last Tuesday to warm up the McCain crowd at a rally in Cincinnati. True to his 700 WLW radio chops, Cunningham incited the crowd with a good ole, pull no punches rip of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, using the same screed he uses five days a week on his radio show.
Some of his remarks included calling Barack Obama a "hack, Chicago-style Daly politician" and "At some point in the near future the media, the stooges from the New York Times, CBS (The Clinton Broadcasting System), NBC (The Nobody But Clinton Network), The All Bill Clinton Channel (ABC), and the Clinton News Network at some point is going to peel the bark off Barack Hussein Obama..."
I don’t know if you heard, but Obama’s middle name is "Hussein," and in case you didn’t, Bill Cunningham will remind you a few thousand times a day. Anyone within a hundred miles of WLW’s signal knows that. If McCain and his staff weren’t aware that this is who Cunningham is, then there’s
a pretty good chance they probably don’t know that to win in November they’ll need a solid conservative base. And they can’t be that dumb.
And that’s the point. They’d have to have known about Cunningham and that he wouldn’t have performed any differently than he did, no matter how hard they try to feign shock You book Andrew Dice Clay for a Bar Mitzvah you can’t say you expected him to do Jerry Seinfeld's act.
McCain and his staff knew exactly what Cunningham would do. They used him for all he was worth and then when he was all done doing what they wanted him to do, they threw him under the Straight Talk bus.
Right?
Not exactly.
See, that would be the interpretation of a political rookie. This was a far more brilliant tactic than what appears on the surface.
Both McCain and Cunningham had to be in on it.
Look at the results.
The crowd got what they wanted.. Cunningham at the top of his game.
McCain got what he wanted - A psyched crowd and a "look what a honorable guy I am to condemn this person I don’t know for insulting my honorable opponents" moment.
And look what Cunningham got - national publicity and a fan base who now love him more than ever. And really, what’s not to love. He’s like a pig in 500 station radio syndication.
Cunningham’s been everywhere. Hannity radio and TV, the Clinton News Network and in every national newspaper he wouldn’t read. Bill's the talk of the town.
I know a lot of people will say the Cunningham is just a crazy loudmouth.
Yeah, crazy like Roger Aile's network
I'm just sayin' that Democrats better be ready come the Fall. These Republicans aren’t as dumb as they try to make you think. Remember, Hannity spent the last six months making you think he wanted Hillary to lose. Tell me he didn't want to face Obama all along. It’s not like reminding the folks that Hillary’s middle name was Rodham would have keep her out of the White House.
These guys are just settin’ up the Dems just like they did in 2000 and 2004. You think they’re getting pummeled and they're playin’ rope-a-dope.
Don’t believe me, but if McCain wins in November, don’t be surprised if the day after innauguration McCain shows up on Cunninghams show...to give him am ambassadorship.

You've got the McCain/McRove machine nailed

In fact, it should be called McRove.  All that McCain does has the purple tinge of hypocrisy and decption.  The hand-wringing about his Keating Five experience in his '02 memoir, when he was doing the Paxton thing right up to '99 and into '00 with the Cindy cloned Vicki I wrapping him around her something or other.

There is a certain type of voter this subliminally APPEALS TO!  Those who operate from fear rationalize that you need a basturd at the top because he is OUR basturd and the rest of the world NEEDS a basturd to "keep us safe."  Obama would give away the store, which is why the middle name is out there, a drumbeat that tries to lure more and more folks to cave in to their fears. You will hear many "Barrack Hussein Osama"s before this is over, also.  Very effective on the mental defectives that overpopulate the backwaters of America.

Before this campaign is over a third of the voters will be convinced he was really born in Indonesia, that the Hawiaii story is just a phony cover! Of course, I exaggerate, but the drumbeat is deliberate and McCain doesn't have the integrity to address it truly, as your article amply demonstrates.  McCain would have to have been born yesterday not to know what he was doing having Bill The Mouth Cunningham warming the audience for him.

And the ones to whom this appeals will NOT BE DISSUADED by the kind of analysis you are giving.  THAT is the truly frightening part.

Are the masses as__s??

If the American people fall for the garbage that is being tossed around about Barack Obama and vote for one of those corporate shills, then they will get the leadership they deserve.  People need to look around and see their neighbors whose jobs have been "outsourced" to some cheap labor destination to see what electing these people who are in the pocket of the military industrial complex brings for us.

Cunningham was conceived in republicanism

WLW radio, the station Cunningham spews his hatred from is in Cincinnati and has such a strong signal that it can reach many states ... TX ... FL ... IN ... TN ... KY ... GA ... Arkansas ... Mississippi ... AL ... Michigan and has been known to be picked up as far as CO.  It is owned by Clear Channel.  Cunningham is a [republicans can do no wrong] ultra right whacko.  He is also a lawyer and has made a mockery of that profession too.  The entire radio station is crammed with radical right wing pundits like  ... Limbaugh, Hannity and O'liely.  At times I think Cunningham is on a crusade to obstruct if not destroy the unity of the American people.  Cunningham is so off the wall that he has been suspended from the station at times.  He takes on an attitude of How dare a democrat seriously run against a repulican for president, almost to the point of wanting to declare it illegal for a dem to run at all.  He is the 14K of block heads ... a waste of a human body ... the type of scum you scrub off your bathtub.

All of these candidates are Liars

Only Ron Paul was willing to speak the truth during the debates. Even Rudy G. had to admit as much as he withdrew from the race. McCain who admitted he knew little about economics, then denied saying it; we'll have endless wars, and co-authored the amnesty bill. Clinton and Obama, are surrounded by CFR and Illumanitti (One World Order) advisers. Without Ron Paul in there for real change...like getting rid of the Federal Reserve, there is little hope for America. Stock up on food, buy some silver and or gold, get out of debt and pray.
