It's Sunday - So Where's Sarah?

Tell A Friend

The Lord of Loud are at the ready. Rush, Sean, BillO, Glenn, et al. They will be front and center to answer all the questions you have about Sarah Palin and they will explain in no uncertain detail (i.e. RNC talking points) how she has all the knowhow necessary to do a wiz-bang job of handling the vice-presidency. And for that, I thank them. Because if they didn't, who would? Certainly not Sarah.

The RNC has gone into full Suppress-Sarah mode. No Sunday morning talk shows. No print interview with Time magazine. No talk to anyone who has an opportunity for a credible followup, like, "Governor, I know you're the one wearing lipstick, but that doesn't answer the question I asked."

That's right. The woman who would be Cheney-redux; the woman who is should be ready on day one to handle the second most powerful job on the planet and- just in case - prepared to take the over reigns from her boss, is not ready yet to answer questions from Tom Brokaw. The lady has better things to do.

Then again, why do we need to ask her anything? She's already told you what Bush's speechwriter wrote she should tell you. And she was able to get it all out in a little over 30 minutes. And from that we now know what we need to know about her readiness. Right?

Now, that Obama guy. He's been on the stump for about a year and a half. Been interviewed umpteen hundred times. Whillikers, he's sat down with Bill O'Reilly. What I want to know is, why is he hiding from us? When will we find out who he is?

So, what's the difference?

Story continues below

Sarah Palin - 30 minutes and one speech.

Barack Obama - 18 months and searing media vetting.

Hmm.

Could it be that he's a guy and she's a gal?

Nah. Didn't keep them from pummeling Hillary.

Could it be that he was born outside the continental U.S. 48?

Nope. So was Sarah.

Hey. Wait a minute. I don't know if you noticed, but Sarah's white and Barack is (s/b whispered) black.

I wonder... Nah, there's no racism to speak of in the country today. Is there?

Well, thank God for that.

I think I have the answer...

I've seen a number of articles that describe the Republican tactic here. They are hoping that Democrats rope-a-dope ourselves and go over the top attacking her. They think this will turn women off and make enough go over to McSame to give him the election.

They also know that the more she talks, the less she will appeal to independant women, so, best not to have her talk.

Have questions ready, but ignore her absence

Don't worry about it. Dig into her background, report on that, and otherwise ignore her. Deal with the issues at hand.

I think the idea that she was brought in so she can smile bravely in the face of attacks is correct. Hilary is past breeding age, so that makes her a target who doesn't generate sympathy. Sarah is still within breeding age, and that with her looks makes her sympathetic. The species is hard-wired to do that for attractive females. We want to look at them.

There is a danger that all the publicity will derail the whole election, as in, "There is no such thing as bad publicity." So keep focused on what each candidate brings.

I have been concerned about animal suffering ever since
I received my first puppy Peaches in 1975. She made me take a good look at the animal kingdom and I was shocked to see how badly we treat so many animals. At 77, I've been a vegan for the past 30 years and I thank God every day that I am. I am most disturbed at how little the Catholic Church and Christian churches generally give to concern re animal suffering in their ministry. I wrote to 350 bishops in 2001 and only 10-13 respond...

It's Sunday...

Will somebody explain to me why Bi-racials consider themselves black?  I'm a "purist" when it comes to ethnicity.  I think it is an insult to the white parent to be not recognized in his or her progeny.  At least I would feel insulted.  These people with mixed racial blood calling themselves Afro-American doesn't reflect that the genes of both races are represented and  makes the person who he or she is.  I am proud that "white" blood courses in the veins of Barack, Hallie, and Alicia.  Aren't they?

Why Flagged?

Why flag this? So it's a little hysterically white-biased. Might as well see the writer for her opinion.

And FYI, it's not blacks who dubbed themselves Afro-Americans; it's "whitie," and whitie says if you're not pure caucasian, you are the other half, even if that other half is only 1/16 or 1/32.

As far as I'm concerned they can drop all the hyphenated crap.

How about just being an AMERICAN.

Or an American of X, Y, or Z descent.

Or if you're hell-bent on hypenizations, why not American-Caucasian-Black, American-Chinese, American-Mexican or, or, or.....

This whole thing is bullcrap and most of us know it. If you were born here, you're an American. And let's face it, the only people who are "real" Americans are the ones who were here before the Pilgrims landed.

The rest of us are all American-Hyphenates.

There's a light on. Somebody's home.

There's a good story here...

...about the newspaper that (in a fit of "correctness") did a find-and-replace on the text of their entire issue... which resulted in a story on the financial page about a struggling company that finally got their numbers "...in the African-American."

Which leads to another story... where momma and pappa bear gobbled up two Eastern Europeans on vacation.  They cut open momma bear... and found the Hungarian... so they knew (see it coming...) The Czech's in the male.

Which leads to another story about how the "Democrats" sift the gnat-poop out of the pepper... thus enabling them to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory every time.

More of us should quit dithering about the "elections" and start doing some serious švejking.

Not to worry !

IF Obama wins he will be the 6th "black" president of the great US of A!!!!

That is according to the DNA factor. It is sad that is even a factor in the 21'st century, in a country that has citizens from every country around the world. Jesus love all his children, RED, YELLOW, BLACK AND WHITE. Oh did you notice the sunday school song put the whites last? Wonder why that was.

As I predicted before the "convention", she isn't needed

The entire point of selecting Palin was to shore up McCain (his pathetic numbers) before the conveniton.   See, here is the plan...... the CFR who has recommended a Fascist global world order governed by bankers and corps, has proven they are setting McCain up as the designated loser, he was selected because all of the other repubs would have beat Obama.

He is so bad, they knew he would be no contest for Obama.   WEll, early on Obama was so far ahead of McCain that there was talk of a rebellion at the RNC convention.   So Palin was selected to bring the base back home, kill the rebellion, and ensure McCains nomination as the designated loser.

When I saw that I pointed out that "Watch what happens after the convention, watch what the media does and the GOP.   They will go back to setting McCain up to lose. "

Sure enough, guess what happened, Obama got three nights in a row on Fox news..... WHAT????   LOL   Yes, 3 nights and on the first night drew 60 million voters breaking a viewing record for Fox,   now CNN is doing something on him, but neither one is doing anything for McCain.

This move to hide Palin is part of that strategy, they don't need her anymore and they don't want her shoring McCain up as she would do if out there campaigning for him.  She is good, but she is a paulite, remember.

If your wondering why all this is going on,  Obama had 6 CFR advisors on his staff, one of which is Zbig Brszinski who wrote the global domination book called "The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and is Geostratic Imperative".    From that book came the CFR written op ed regarding globalizing and the description in there fits global fascism to a tee.... Obama in his campaigning to the elite was sent around the globe to see how he would be accepted, remember those trips???

In his speeches he eloguently and effectively talked about "a world order" and "a New World".... all buzz words for this globalization recommended by the CFR.  That is why he is the designated winner of this contest.   WE HAD NO SAY IN IT.  McCain is toast and they set it up that way as we can see by the manipulated press.

Link to CFR's recommendations for a "Global fascist STate"  or New world order.

 http://www.cfr.org/publication/9903/sovereignty_and_globalisation.html

after you read this, go on line and check out the definition of Fascism or corporatism.

In summary, once the convention was settled down and no rebellion occurred then Palin was no longer needed and she will probably not be out there much at all now.

I agree with what you're saying to an extent, however, It's a known cultural fact that in this society, for better or worse, people who are bi-racial--and exhibit visible physical characteristics of one of the races in their background--are identified--by this society--with that race, and not the one that doesn't predominantly "show."

I have attended workshop sessions in diversity training where this very subject is addressed among those of bi-racial heritage, specifically white and black (not all black people are African American). To a person, they have stated that they themselves feel categorized as belonging to the black race--first and foremost by others, and then consequently by themselves--because that is how they are seen, and therefore treated by those who categorize and then consequently treat people according to that categorization.

It's a perhaps unfortunate fact (the categorization by appearance) of how-things-are in our culture--certainly not (necessarily) chosen by those who are having one race of their heritage foisted on them as an identity by the outside world. I believe it is something difficult for those who are not of bi-racial heritage to fully comprehend, although hearing it explained first-hand has helped me to begin.

Where's Sarah

Sarah is in hiding and won't be brought out until she's been provided with another script and has convinced Karl Rove that she can handle that one. Did you notice that on Meet the Press, Tom stated that they've extended an invitation for her to appear anytime prior to the election?   My guess???  She'll appear the Sunday before the election, make all kinds of statements that will take some time to verifiy, and she'll disappear until the vote is done.

And, isn't it nice to know that the mainstream corporate media will help the republicans to keep her protected until she can be 'used' appropriately?   In the meantime,  Joe Biden appeared on Meet the Press  and it seemed that most of the questions that Brokaw asked  Biden had to do with Brokaw trying to make Sarah Palin look good...Joe Biden did a great job.  He's a smart guy and I really liked the way he responded to Brokaw who was trying to tear apart his record.  Good job Joe!   Brokaw is a republican tool.  Just another way the mainstream can help republicans to steal another election.

I know a lot of people have trouble with the fairness doctrine that media used to have to comply with but I think it's the only thing that will make the mainstream media address all sides of an issue - any issue.

Everyone has to do whatever they can to make sure that people vote.  We really can't afford another four years of Bush...that's John Bush.

Hmmm, Didn't Sally Hemmings' Decendents Prove....

...what we already know, that the majority of African-Americans are multi-racial, thanks to the rapes of Caucasian slaveowners? Unless you emigrated here from Africa AFTER reconstruction and Jim Crow and can demonstrate that your ancestors paired up only with other recent emigrees, there is no such thing as racial "purity." And that goes for us Caucasians too, as many of us are related to the original inhabitants of this continent. I agree that we are all American. After all, ALL our genes still look the same, skin color being only one of numerous characteristics to manifest itself through gene dominance, kind of like the widow's peak and brown eyes. Unfortunately too many Caucasians still see skin color differently and tend to lump people together to fit into easy to understand categories, because the Caucasians who engage in racism in this country are not always the sharpest tacks on the bulletin board. Mean, yes. Smart? Not so much.

from the black lagoon

Trust me; Sarah is every bit as qualified as Dick Nixon was when he was dredged from that very same swamp. She is a distraction meant to obscure the real topic, which is McCain's weaknesses and the lack of an acceptable statesman. Win or lose; her name is now made and will be available in the future, so less said of her now equals better, later. Just as in Nixon's case, the Repub shell game has produced from Nothing; Something more colorful than the usual empty suits and nasty pirates.

And stop calling yourselves "Liberal"; the name conservatives gave you to obscure their difference from Progressives. (The opposite of liberal is conservative. But the opposite of Progressive is unmentionable (look it up and Use It!). And run the Regressives out of business!

Anybody check the wires recently?

Sarah Palin will first be interviewed by ABC's Charles Gibson. The other interviews will follow in due time. I'm sure she will eventually do all the Sunday morning shows, the cable news shows, etc.

Sorry, I doubt she will be doing interviews with Randi Rhodes, or Markos Moulitsas, or Michael Moore. And she won't get invited on "Countdown".

Softball

Scottie, I'm surprised her first interview isn't with Rush or Sean, but when it comes to playing softball, Charlie Gibson will do.

You can bet that Olbermann's producers have been trying to get Palin since before the official announcement.

And when that snowflake freezes in hell on the day she comes on Countdown, I guarantee he will be polite even if his questions will be pointed.

I have never seen K.O. be rude a la Hannity or O'Reilly to a guest he disagrees with, even if he doesn't have those kinds of guests on very often.

His is not a confrontational guest type of show anyway.
