The following video was produced by Princeton University. It explains precisely how the votes are stolen and will be stolen again.
Main Findings The main findings of our study are:See also: If your money was in a bank which had the safe guards of a "voting machine", you would be dead broke in a week!
- Malicious software running on a single voting machine can steal votes with little if any risk of detection. The malicious software can modify all of the records, audit logs, and counters kept by the voting machine, so that even careful forensic examination of these records will find nothing amiss. We have constructed demonstration software that carries out this vote-stealing attack.
- Anyone who has physical access to a voting machine, or to a memory card that will later be inserted into a machine, can install said malicious software using a simple method that takes as little as one minute. In practice, poll workers and others often have unsupervised access to the machines.
- AccuVote-TS machines are susceptible to voting-machine viruses - computer viruses that can spread malicious software automatically and invisibly from machine to machine during normal pre-and post-election activity. We have constructed a demonstration virus that spreads in this way, installing our demonstration vote-stealing program on every machine it infects.
- While some of these problems can be eliminated by improving Diebold's software, others cannot be remedied without replacing the machines' hardware. Changes to election procedures would also be required to ensure security.

Abstract This paper presents a fully independent security study of a Diebold AccuVote-TS voting machine, including its hardware and software. We obtained the machine from a private party. Analysis of the machine, in light of real election procedures, shows that it is vulnerable to extremely serious attacks. For example, an attacker who gets physical access to a machine or its removable memory card for as little as one minute could install malicious code; malicious code on a machine could steal votes undetectably, modifying all records, logs, and counters to be consistent with the fraudulent vote count it creates. An attacker could also create malicious code that spreads automatically and silently from machine to machine during normal election activities - a voting-machine virus. We have constructed working demonstrations of these attacks in our lab. Mitigating these threats will require changes to the voting machine's hardware and software and the adoption of more rigorous election procedures.--Ariel J. Feldman, J. Alex Halderman, and Edward W. Corporations control America's elections with secrecy and criminal fraud. Your vote means absolutely nothing! American Democracy is dead! It's nothing less than an insidious corporate revolution, an insidious subversion by corporatist vote snatchers. In less tolerant times, such culprits might hang. Perhaps, they should today. With voting over in New Hampshire, the big network exit poll is out and according to Fox News it shows:
Democratic candidates:
Obama 39%
Clinton 34%
Edwards 18%Republican candidates:

Isn't it amazing?
I am bowled over by how technology can make our our lives so easy and carefree! It seems that there is no crime with a difficulty level above one that cannot be streamlined with the appropriate technology! by John Sanchez Jr. (9 articles, 0 quicklinks, 25 diaries, 1791 comments [148 recommended, 3 rejected]) on Saturday, Jan 12, 2008 at 8:46:58 AM

"Princeton University Reveals How the GOP Steals Election"
IF they gave us these machines to vote on in Canada we would of been in the streets in a revolution long before they were ever used. Why do you need a Princeton study understand this issue paper ballots counted in front of the people is the only way I don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows by dave stanley (5 articles, 1 quicklinks, 7 diaries, 286 comments) on Sunday, Jan 13, 2008 at 10:13:17 AM

Fighting Back.
These Republican Election Crooks think they can get away with stealing our Elections; I propose we do something about it. They still need campaign dollars and they canvass, and stump for donations. I think we can setup campaign booths, or Internet Ads, radio soliciting, Television, etc. and ask for money for the Republicans. When the money comes in say for John McCain or whoever we take the money and give it to Ron Paul, or Dennis Kucinich, or Mike Gravel. Who is going to check? They don't do recounts in voting, who is going to monitor where donations really go? In my opinion it can't be stopped. No one will be able to trust another donation site or location again. Someone could claim an inside Republican mole siphoned off funds and delivered it to the Democatic Party, or any party for that matter, and whether it was true or not, doesn't matter. The point is it raises a serious issue, that donations can be scammed, and that the entire process is a sham, and scam. The only way to assure donations get to the right people, would be to have Republicans agree to stop the election rigging, and when that happens a level of trust will develop and the election donation scams will stop. Do you really know where your campaign donations go? Some big Corporations probably mail in their donations, but if the word gets out that even both sides are doing this, say the Republicans are really the reason to why Hillary won in New Hampshire and stumped for her in getting dollars, and instead of giving to her they pocketed the windfall, is a very good way to get people to take another look at where their dollars are really going. People will begin to hold on to their money, and certainly the Republicans with dried up funds will take another look at their tactics in rigging elections. This is war ladies and gentlemen as far as the imagination can see. We have no way of stopping election rigging, then let's do something to take away their funds, or get people to question whether giving to their guy is not some scam, so they end up not giving. Dirty Tricks? Who is dirty? Throw mud, we throw gravel. There is a point where people have to do something to change the process. And if enough people start seeing that elections are scams, then certainly giving donations will bcome a scam in operation as well. by Dom Jermano (20 articles, 0 quicklinks, 40 diaries, 930 comments) on Monday, Jan 14, 2008 at 4:51:47 AM
