IT'S TIME TO CALL FOR THE RESIGNATION OF CERTAIN POLITICIANS FROM PUBLIC OFFICE! READ HERE:

Okay, folks. If the attacks on the Constitution are unprecedented, and if rushes to war based on lies are unprecedented crimes, then it's time for us also to act in a way that is unprecedented in American history.

If politicians think they can literally get away with murder; if they think that they can even propose the very idea of clamping down on American freedom of thought; if they can so much as suggest that the Internet is a breeding ground for terrorists (S.1959);

 And if Congress complicitly refuses to act on our behalf;

Then be it resolved that We the People of the United States of America, and the tax PAYers, demand the resignation from public office of:

 Rep. Jane Harmon, for introducing S 1959, legislation to clamp down on free thought in America
Sen. Collins and Coleman, for introducing S 1959 into the Senate

Dick Cheney and George Bush, for spouting lies and fears to the public in order to rush us to yet one more war with Iran

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, for blocking impeachment (What's UNDER the table, Nancy?)

HERE'S HOW WE CAN GET THESE RESIGNATIONS TO EXIST IN REALITY AND NOT JUST IN DREAM LAND:

 1) Write your favored activist organizations such as but not limited to:

Democrats.com, Center for COnstitutional Rights, Moveon.org, Credo, True Majority, The Pen, Courage Campaign et al

I did not mention the ACLU because having been a volunteer board member, I know for a fact that they keep a neutral position where candidates are concerned. So they won't get behind requesting the resignation of any official or of endorsing their candidacy.

2) Write a letter to your public editor urging the politicians above to step down, based on the facts linked in the articles/websites below. NOTE: It's important to state calm, cool facts and not ranting opinions. THe last thing we need is to turn people off! We need to convince them of the necessity for this unprecedented call, and facts are the tools we have to our disposal. Emotional rants will only hurt our campaign.

3) Quote as back-up to your positions the attorneys of national stature who themselves state that S 1959 clamps down on free thought, not on actions:

Caroline Frederickson, ACLU Legislative Director http://www.truthout.org/docs_2006/112907.shtml

Center for Constitutional Rights echoes the same concern: www.ccrjustice.com enter Homegrown Terrorism into the search box and the fact sheets will come up

Another attorney weighs in with very insightful concerns about S 1959 here:

Hello friends I have decided to take a break from political writing for a while and have disconnected my email address correlated with Opednews. If any of you send me a message to my Opednews box and I do not respond, I am not ignoring you: The message simply is not getting through to me because of my disconnected email at home. Thank you and best wishes, Kathryn Smith This quote summarizes the nature of my concerns and the content of personal experiences which stir my activism: "Necessity is the plea for every infringement on human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves". --Paul Revere, House of Commons

Dear "Elected Representative" ...

Dear "Elected Representative" -

I'd like to remind YOU that when you were SWORN IN as an elected representative, YOU swore an OATH to uphold, protect and defend The Constitution. You ended by saying "SO HELP ME GOD." Please review that OATH you swore to the Constitution.

As an American citizen, I demand, I don’t request, that you as "an elected representative" disavow support for this this bill and perform your DUTY as an elected representative sworn to PROTECT the Constitution. You owe it to your country and your constituents. You swore an OATH BEFORE GOD! YOU must make a choice between this attack on the Constitution or your duty to uphold that OATH which you swore invoking the help of your God. I implore you to fulfill your oath, uphold the Constitution of the United States of America, and never let HR 1955/S1959 become law.

This bill and YOUR SUPPORT OF IT are a direct attack on the US Constitution, specifically the First Amendment which plainly states: "Congress shall make no law . . . abridging the freedom of speech"  furthermore your support of this attack on The Constitution represents an abrogation of your SWORN OATH BEFORE GOD to "Protect and DEFEND The Constitution from ALL ENEMIES FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC... SO HELP ME GOD."

By using your office to support for this bill, YOU have become one of those enemies! YOU are now a homegrown terrorist because this bill is a direct attack on the US Constitution.

You may believe that by kissing Bush regime ass and providing cover for their on-going criminal activities, they will demonstrate their eternal gratitude by letting YOU into their private club and perhaps even throwing you an expensive bone or two... BAD NEWS for you, sucker! To them you are nothing more than a disposable lackey and they will most certainly throw your sorry ass off the bus at the first opportunity to lighten the load. After all - the name of their game is having all the loot for themselves. - It is NOT about taking you along to the party! WAKE UP, you ass kissin' moron!

SHAME ON YOU.

Grandfather, Vietnam veteran, political observer since high school, raconteur and fed up with the anti-Constitutional bent that appears to be taking over the political scene on both sides.

Well put!

Thanks mrk...I too would like to at least paraphrase your letter. The Rep I have in mind is my Repugnantlan Congressman and as slick, corrupt and arrogantly smug as any of 'em! All I get from that jackass is the stale and long-ago refuted party talking points. He needs the dressing down you have so eloquently provided. Again, thanks.
