An Actual Declassified FBI Document: International Terrorism Matters Investigation

This link is an actual declassified FBI "International Terrorism Matters" investigation of the Thomas Merton Center in Pittsburgh for organizing an Iraq War peace rally. It contains the FBI's official seal, is made out to the US Department of Justice and contains the statement "this document contains neither the opinions nor the recommendations of the FBI. It is for your use (US Dept of Justice) & any action deemed appropriate".

It's important for people to "get it" that it's not terrorists who are being targeted in post-911 legislation.
Anyone who says "Just let them wiretap me: I have nothing to hide" is being innocent.

Anyone who thinks that "The FBI will investigate when they think you have done a terrorist crime" is wrong. Granted this is only one document, but there are literally thousands of examples on the ACLU's website of abuses of post-911 law in which activists, not terrorists are targeted.

Further, the Patriot Act's definition of "Terrorist", according to the ACLU and tons of other entities, includes religious and peace groups and activists in its definition.

So in fact, this is not an "abuse" of the so-called "Law". It is merely a fulfillment of it.
