Ms. Jane Anonymous Doe was there front and center when Father Divine (Reverend General Jealous Divine) put a curse on New York judge Justice Lewis J. Smith and a few days later the judge fell dead. Smith died from a heart attack but Father Divine claimed he did it with his special powers, you see, Father Divine claimed to be God and his followers believed it. Ms. Jane Doe thought she was witnessing an extraordinary moment of powerful truth being enacted and so became a devout follower, giving all of her income and her home to the Father Divine Empire, she even gave up her family because they were against Father Divine. After many years of sacrifice and faithful giving, reduced to nothing but a corner in a commune, the rags on her back, penniless, overlooked and undervalued by newcomers into the Father Divine movement she realized that she had been bamboozled. Hell is truth seen too late and it was too late for Ms. Doe because she had given her life’s energy and all her resources to support a lie and was now dependent upon that lie for her daily bread and a roof over her head. Follow a lie and you will die with that lie and in the end face the harsh cutting truth of that which you have become. The keyword here is “follow”. Anytime you follow something you are putting yourself in jeopardy and danger of being taken for granted and this is why it’s best to always find your “own” way instead of taking someone else’s twisted word. You can’t get back the time and money wasted following a crook. Father Divine died a long time ago and so did Ms. Doe but we still have copycats today who want to build up crowds of blind followers and megabuck religious empires. Spiritual people are just as vulnerable as religious people it’s not just in the religious arena. We have all kinds of spiritual guru’s, self-proclaimed leaders, master teachers and leaders out here who prey on those trying to find the right path. Many of these people are no different than the fake hoodoo doctors of long ago who sold anything including dirt as a cure for poverty. Many people traveled miles to visit these so-called doctors, saved up hard to come by money in hopes of receiving a magical cure only to be disappointed when all they received was bottle of cooking oil disguised as some mystical healing holy ointment. Hell is truth seen too late. Too late to get your money back.
The greatest teacher of spirituality cannot be found in a book, CD, expensive seminar or even on a website. The greatest teacher of spirituality is life.
Always remember the bedrock of spirituality is freedom regardless of what path you choose. You have the freedom to reject or accept what is presented to you. You have the freedom to analyze, challenge, dissect and verify anything you hear, read or view before incorporating it into your spiritual path. If you get caught up in something that is not quite right remember your freedom in spirituality you have the freedom to walk away.

Well Said Sharon
Having knowledge that others do not is considered magic. Magic men who use their power to exploit others are wedging themselves in between those people and truth. I would never believe a person who says "only through me can you find happiness, truth and God," especially as all are the same. They lie within each and every one of us. There are some who have knowledge unfathomable to the many, but understand that this is a responsibility, and not simply a good way to make profit. These people are known as the sages, wise wo/men, and truly enlightened. They will never tell you how or what to think, but only ask that you think for yourself. These are the true teachers and keepers of wisdom. You will know them by the smiles on their faces and their disregard for material wealth. I thank you for exposing the con-men. They are gaining more power as the country loses hope. by Ferdinand (17 articles, 4 quicklinks, 39 diaries, 259 comments) on Friday, Mar 7, 2008 at 4:35:23 PM

Reply: Destructive or Constructive?
We must forgive others' mistakes - as we often make the same ones ourselves. Why ridicule someone who is bringing something to the table? Sharon is trying to be constructive. Are you? I feel like I am reliving kindergarten. I think we were in Iraq back then too. by Ferdinand (17 articles, 4 quicklinks, 39 diaries, 259 comments) on Saturday, Mar 8, 2008 at 1:31:08 AM

Reply: I am trying to be..
I will take opponents head-on in any debate or discussion. In fact, it gives me great joy. Debates are great because, in them, we can destroy false assumptions and construct new ideas. Unfortunately, there are not many up to the challenge of debating the brilliant. That is why they laughed at Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich.. But you know what is said about the "last laugh." So until then, I will try to understand my opponents, so that I might one day destroy their illusions. by Ferdinand (17 articles, 4 quicklinks, 39 diaries, 259 comments) on Saturday, Mar 8, 2008 at 12:37:06 PM

Hell is what we're seeing today.
All because Abraham lied. Is it any wonder of the hellish conditions in Iraq where this lie started? It only took 6000 years for it to come full circle. Even if you don't agree with my viewpoint, Sharon did an excellent job of pointing out a simple truth. "How soon the labor of men would make a paradise of the whole earth, were it not for mis-government, and a diversion of all his energies from their proper object -- the happiness of man -- to the selfish interest of kings, nobles, and priests." -- Thomas Jefferson by Edward Ulysses Cate (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 232 comments [9 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Saturday, Mar 8, 2008 at 9:27:30 AM

I Call No Man Master
We are the forgers of our own destinies. Others can help to enlighten us but it is ultimately up to the individual to create their own spiritual journey. Yes there are some great spiritual enlighteners out here but as with anything there are also some frauds. It is always safe to follow ones own spirit because spirit will never mislead or lie to you. by Sharon Roach (15 articles, 0 quicklinks, 7 diaries, 184 comments [2 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Monday, Mar 10, 2008 at 8:12:32 AM
