Major Independent Exit Poll Projects to Coordinate by Stephanie Singer Page 1 of 1 page(s) |

With increased consciousness of the dangers of electronic vote-counting technology, there is increasing grassroots pressure for independent election verification. In elections around the world, public-domain exit polls are central to such efforts. Unfortunately, US media consortium exit pollsters have announced that they will no longer release any data even to their media clients until they can "correct" their numbers so as to make them conform to the official count. In other words, what they report is no longer exit poll data at all, but rather a meaningless affirmation of official numbers.
To obtain an honest assessment of how people voted and whether or not machines are recording votes accurately, groups around the nation have developed plans to conduct exit polls. We are pleased to announce that several groups at the forefront of the national election integrity movement groups pushing for independent exit polls are will be coordinating in this effort under the banner of the Vote Count Protection Project.
The combined exit poll will implemented by Kenneth Warren of The Warren Poll, Steven F. Freeman of the University of Pennsylvania, and Jonathan Simon of the Election Defense Alliance. At the same time, election data forensics will be implemented by Stephanie F. Singer of Campaign Scientific and Bruce O'Dell of the Election Defense Alliance.
All data and findings will be available for independent analyses.

Hallelujah!
This is the best news I've heard in 6 years regarding a serious attempt to assure honest fair elections. Given the current status of (p)Resident Bush, former Pedophile Foley, current Pedophile Hastert, (and other Congressional, Senatorial, & Judicial sickos), Condoleeza Rice, Rumsfeld, Rove, etc., the need for fair elections is imperative. Not that the individuals running are above reproach by any means, and as I've posted before, in no way do I believe that the Democrats are the salvation here. But fair elections are an absolute must, regardless of any other considerations. And as Dennis Loo noted in his book and in a recent post here, impeachment of the current (p)Resident and anyone else in his administration who is complicit that needs to be impeached should be the top priority, regardless of the election outcomes. That is the only way this country can even begin to get back on track. Additionally, as far as I'm concerned, if the impeachment does not result in the Commmander in Chief being tried for treason, some sort of full scale criminal hearing must be implemented along those lines as well. by Lilith's Spirit (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 99 comments) on Saturday, Oct 21, 2006 at 6:07:12 PM

Reply: Impeachment is not an option
Serious crimes - national and international - have been committed. Treaties have been broken. Hundrends of thousands of innocent men, women, and children have died. A sovereign nation has been destroyed, its infrastructure in ruins. Power is sacred. The Constitution more disposal than toilet tissue. A legal concept older than the Magna Carta and a fundamental principle on which our Constitution was built -- habeas corpus, a legal instrument or writ by means of which detainees can seek release from unlawful imprisonment -- was bartered away by our elected officials, our legislative branch. [Habeas corpus, first codified by the Habeas Corpus Act 1679, has literary origins dating back to the 12th century.] I remain in total shock at how cavalier our 109th Congress was when dismantling our 200+ year old democracy. The 109th Congress did nothing gorge itself at the K-Street trough (106th-108th too). Laws are written by the lobbyists to promote corporate federalism, and corporate federalism provides nice profits, no taxes, corporate welfare, carte blanche labor law violations, 24/7 access to the White House, HUGE profits, etc. Senate - same story. Impeaching Bush is not an option. As we uncover his lies, corruption, thieving, psychoses, treason, willful international crimes, and premeditated crimes against the Constitution, we will also uncover his accomplices. Your elected lawmakers under the influence of Bush Mafia and that irresistable GOP K-Street crack. The legislative abominations that have transpired under the Bush administration must be more then overturned. The greed and power mongering that led to their compromise in the first place must be exposed. We will choke on the shame and hopefully never pass this way again. P.S. We need to rescue GW's Daddy's file on Iran-Contra too (sealed the day Dubya took office). The Bushes must be run out of American politics forever. Legally banned as a part of sentencing if need be. They have abused every single opportunity. Nothing is too expensive or costly for American taxpayers to fetch for them - no life, no freedom, no principle, and no limit. Time to wean this family from the public tit. by Amanda Lang (23 articles, 14528 quicklinks, 442 diaries, 731 comments [17 recommended, 0 rejected]) on Saturday, Oct 21, 2006 at 8:00:16 PM

Reply: Flag Officers Are Always an Option
Well, the special group of "Flag Officers" could be an option to forcibly remove "W" at least, as per military law. But a number of them have already been assassinated, and it appears as if the current group is laying low. I'm not sure of any other logistics for actually putting Bush & Co. on trial. by Lilith's Spirit (0 articles, 0 quicklinks, 0 diaries, 99 comments) on Saturday, Oct 21, 2006 at 9:40:58 PM
