Tell A Friend

Clinton and her surrogates often repeat like a mantra that she is experienced and Ready on Day One!  Below is a comparison of the senate accomplishments of both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama so that you can decide for yourselves, who really has the beef!

                                      *******************

"Check out Amadeo Sogni's article A Light in the Darkness where he actually does research in comparing legislative records of both Clinton and Obama. It was very illuminating and I would like someone to try to debunk it.
Sogni states:
Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term (6yrs.), and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law, (20) twenty pieces of legislation in her first six years.
These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress (www.thomas.loc.gov), but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you.
1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
OBAMAS:
Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive, so I'll mainly categorize. During the first (8) eight years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills. He introduced
233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
112 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.
His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These included:
**the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law),
**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law),
**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,
**The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law),
**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee), and many more.
In all since enter the U.S. Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096.
(FROM WIZBANGBLUE, Mothermaven, 2/13/08)"
SO WHOSE GOT THE BEEF?

BARACK OBAMA'S    21 Links to Leadership  http://www.amazon.com/21-Irrefutable-Laws-Leadership/dp/0785274316

For people who want to know if  Barack Obama has what it takes to be a great leader.

A piece of the rock
How a leader deals with the circumstances of life tells you many things about his character. Adversity is a crossroads that makes a person choose one of the two paths: character or compromise.

Charisma
The first impression can seal the deal
"Most people think of charisma as something mystical, almost undefinable. Q "How can you have charisma? A. Be more concerned about making others feel good about themselves than you are making them feel good about you." John C. Maxwell

It separates doers from dreamers
"If you want to be an effective leader, you have to be committed. True commitment inspires and attracts people. It shows them that you have conviction. They will believe in you only if you believe in your cause." John C. Maxwell

Without it you travel alone
"Appreciation can make a day, even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary."Margaret Cousins
If you build it it will come.
Competence goes beyond words. It's the leader's ability to say it, plan it, and tdo t in such a way that others know that you know how--and know that they want to follow you.
"Quality is never an accident; it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skillful execution; it represents the wise choice of many alternatives."-- Willa A. Foster

Courage
One person with courage is a majority
"Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human quality ... because it is the quality quality which guarantees all the others. - Winston Churchill

Put on end to unsolved mysteries. Discernment can be d escribed as the ability to find the root of the matter, and it relies on intuition as well as rational thought.
"Discernment is God's call to intercession, never to faultfinding."Corrie Ten Boom

Focus
The sharper  it is, the sharper you are.
"All that we are is the result of what we have thought." Buddha

Your candle loses nothing when it lights another.
"No person was ever honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave." - Calvin Coolidge

You won't leave home without it
"Success seems to be connected with action. Successful people keep moving. They make mistakes, but they don't quit. "

To connect with their hearts, use your ears.
The ear of the leader must ring with the voices of the people. Woodrow Wilson

Passion
Take this life and love it
We are caught up at a particular stage in our national ethos in which we're not only materialistic but worse than that; we're becoming emotionally dead as people. We don't sing, we don't dance, we don't even commit sin with much enthusiasm." -Tony Cam polo

"If you believe you can, you can
The successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him." - David Brinkley

You can't let your problems be a problem
"The majority see the obstacles; the few see the objectives; history records the successes of the latter, while oblivion is the reward of the former." AA Montapert

If you get along, they'll go along
The most important single ingredient in the formula of success is knowing how to get along with people. - Theodore Roosevelt

If you won't carry the ball, when you can't lead the team
"It is priceless to find a person who will take responsibility, who will finish and follow through to the final detail- to know when somehone has accepted an assignment that it will be effectively, conscientiously completed." Richard L. Evans

Competence never compensates for insecurity
"No man will make a great leader who wants to do it all himself or get all the credit for doing it." - Andrew Carnegie,

The first person you lead is you
The first and best victory is to conquer self - Plato
"Almost all our faults are more pardonable than the methods we think up to hide them" Rochefoucauld

To get ahead, put others first
"I don't know what your destiny will be, but one thing I know: The ones among you who will be really happy are those who have sought and found how to serve." Albert Schweitzer

To keep leading, keep learning
"As long as you're green, you're grwong. As soon as you're ripe, you start to rot." Ray Croc

You can seize only what you can see
"The future belongs to those who see possibilities before they become obvious." - John Sculley

You've Got Your Facts Wrong!

This will be a multi part post as the information becomes available.

BUT

Hillary Sponsored 354 bills since 2001

and co-sponsored 1723 bills since 2001

You've got it wrong and there's more information to come.

More ACTUAL Facts

In his short three years in the Senate Obama has:

MISSED 17% of the votes -- compared to others ths is bad. Clnton only missed 6%

He has not authored bills but has sponsored ONLY 129 bills (and 120 of them never made it out of committee)

He has co-sponsored ONLY 545 bills

So the other "facts" you quote are gross exaggerations and disingenuous.

Obama may be a good speaker but there's not much beef there.

Obama's Senate Accomplishments

Excerpt from:
Judge Him by His Laws,
By Charles Peters
Friday, January 4, 2008; Page A21
(WashingtonPost.Com)

People who complain that Barack Obama lacks experience must be unaware of his legislative achievements. One reason these accomplishments are unfamiliar is that the media have not devoted enough attention to Obama's bills and the effort required to pass them, ignoring impressive, hard evidence of his character and ability.
Since most of Obama's legislation was enacted in Illinois, most of the evidence is found there -- and it has been largely ignored by the media in a kind of Washington snobbery that assumes state legislatures are not to be taken seriously. (Another factor is reporters' fascination with the horse race at the expense of substance that they assume is boring, a fascination that despite being ridiculed for years continues to dominate political journalism.)
