Pelosi Admits She Has NOT Read Articles of Impeachment!?!

Tell A Friend

Here is a great video by Anthony of We Are Change in which Nancy Pelosi admits that she has NOT read the Articles of Impeachment even after being asked about impeachment on The View!?! Apparently, Pelosi outrageously believes that Congress should no longer hold the Executive branch accountable. See real news at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUlhmOQEI_M

There goes that quaint old system of checks and balances. It has been replaced by cash, favors, and power, and it looks like we will suffer the same consequences which historically occur when the rule of the people according to law is replaced by the rule of the power hungry elite. If you don't want that (ask any Mexican if you're not sure), then spread the news about impeachment and demand impeachment.

Send an email with a link to this article to all of your contacts. Also, write a letter to your local paper and tell them if they do not cover impeachment this week, then you will cancel your subscription, and if they don't, cancel your subscription and quit supporting their lies and propaganda!!!

Also, don't miss the laughable CNN coverage of the impeachment hearing. It's a must see! CNN completely embarrasses itself and dispels any notion that it covers news. I hope that Jon Stewart uses it! Mark, you appear to be stretching a bit

when you claim Pelosi hasn't read the articles of impeachment.

If I got this right, you handed her your articles, then asked her opinion and she said she had not read them. Obviously, you had just given them to her.

To take that the step further and claim she has not read Kucinich's articles, is unsupported by your video.

I'm no fan of Nancy, but I think your headline assumes rather a lot.

Reply: Actually, Anthony did the video.

I just want more people to know about it.

Also, if Pelosi had read the articles of impeachment which is what Anthony clearly asked, then she could have said that she had read them.  Perhaps she was confused or perhaps she let the truth slip out since she wasn't worried about being caught on camera.

Only Pelosi knows.  Maybe she will explain her statement.  Either way, we should all be very worried that she is helping undermine our Constitutional system of government.

Reply: Technicality

I'm with Jim on this.  Great effort by Anthony for sure, but I saw this the other day and Anthony says, "Will you look at these articles of impeachment." She replies, "You can leave them right here. I can't look at them right now." He says, "Do you have any comment on that?" and she laughs slightly saying, "I didn't read it yet" referring to what he handed her.

He doesn't indicate to Pelosi what articles of impeachment they are. And, for someone - Pelosi - who doesn't want to comment at all on this tour about impeachment she can easily respond to that question with "I haven't read it" and probably rightfully so because there could have been anything within those pages. She would be a fool to comment on a stack of papers someone hands her even if she is told what is contained within.

It's too bad he didn't add "Have you read the articles of impeachment that Rep. Kucinich introduced" and get a yes/no answer.

But, when Anthony describes the intense level of security around her, he is not exaggerating and you have to get things like that in quickly. I could barely finish my sentence before I was grabbed by security and removed.

Everyone who is going to these signings needs to think like a lawyer when they ask her a question. She is a professional politician after all.

Even if she had read Kucinich's she's going to be reluctant to say yes because then she would be called on to comment on them which she does not want to do.

But, thanks to Anthony for keeping the pressure on and understand I'm not trying to be negative, just that I hope the next person that gets through - maybe one of you - can ask the question more directly.

Reply: I agree. The question should have been more direct.

However, as you mentioned, Pelosi does not want to discuss impeachment.  If she had not been afraid to address the issue, she may have asked Anthony whether those were Kucinich's articles, and then she could have regurgitated one of the sound bite excuses for not taking action like she did on The View.  Instead, although Anthony mentions the articles of impeachment, she simply says that she hasn't read them yet rather than asking whether it is a copy of Kucinich's articles of impeachment.

Anthony should have been ready with a more direct question like "Have you read Kucinich's articles of impeachment?"  If she had said, "no," then the point made by Anthony's video would have been even stronger.  If she said that she had and reiterated the statement which she made on The View that you need to have "the goods that this president committed a crime," then he could have asked, "How can you say that no crime has been committed without any allowing any investigation of the charges?"

Still, the point is that Pelosi is obstructing the investigation of these serious charges and undermining our system of government.  I hope that Cindy Sheehan and the CA voters fire Pelosi this fall.  Maybe then the investigations will begin.  See http://www.cindyforcongress.org/

Buried in semantics

NANCY KNOWS what he was referring to.

You can bury the question as a matter of semantics just the same as skilled politicians do ("what is 'is'.")  But can she bury tens of thousands of lives, trillions in debt and the character of our nation in the eyes of the world and its citizenry?

Arapaho legend says that evil is a sharp three cornered stone born in the chest of man that turns every time he commits an evil deed.  The stone's corners gradually wear away till there's no more corners and no more pain. There must be more round stones in Washington than any other place on earth.

Impeachment Supporters

Nancy has said it herself, she is a fat cat politician - number 3 - and she has no desire to rock the status quo.  You can talk truth to her all you want and she's not listening - because she already knows the truth.

The great thing about this video is all of the acts of civil disobedience.  The protesters in the street, the signs for impeachment, the fact that people have the guts to ask her and force her to deny that she is doing anything publicly, and the sound and video recordings.

Our politicians "control" the speech that people can make.  They "control" the room so that dissenters do not get in.  Everyone should be asking themselves - is that freedom of speech?

The protesters were allowed to protest outside in the rain where no one could here them.  That's not a free speech zone, that's a no speech zone.

The "heavy" security and the disallowance of video cameras and photographers.

Thanks Mark, I agree with Jim and Cheryl

Hope your efforts inspire others.

The question to Nancy should be as Cheryl says, "have you read the 35 articles of impeachment that Dennis Kucinich prepared?",

One might even add, "the 35 that are in the Congressional record".

It not easy denying deniability to professionals that are practised in it.

Oh, please, stop with the semantics ...

Pelosi reeks of elitism. This women is an affront to everything a representative of the people is suppose to be. Whether she read the articles or not doesn't matter, what matters is she doesn't care what they say or what we think.

What does it say about our whole process of representation when everyone of these so-called representatives of the people have to be surrounded by body-guards from the very people they're suppose to represent? Just watching her ignore those giving her a piece of their minds before her hired thugs can push them away makes one want to pick this scum up by her scrawny pencil neck and fling her into a wall.

Our whole system, our whole country, has become a disgrace in every way imaginable and I don't think we have the enough people with the fortitude, courage, awareness or knowledge to do anything to stop us falling into the abyss.

And the Pelosi's of this country still won't care as we starve to death because they'll be safe behind their ivory towers and armed guards. I don't even think a nuclear attack would phase these cretins. It's a known fact that they have built under-ground cities for the elites to live in for just such an event - and we're not invited.

As far as I'm concerned they can have whatever would be left of this burnt toxic cinder of a world once they have been done with it and us - to Hell with Pelosi and her ilk. To Hell with this country.

We may have had a chance at one time of redeeming ourselves but that chance left town on September 11, 2001, and since we didn't hold those that committed that crime accountable, but instead swallowed the fabricated lies because we were too scared to face the truth, we're going to pay again for our cowardliness and stupidity.

And we don't have time to set things right. The alarm has been ringing for way too long and most of the people in this country are still asleep. And the sad part is they don't want to wake-up. They want to believe that if they just stay asleep that somehow their dreams will make the reality go away.

Well too bad. Because when they are finally forced to wake-up they aren't going to like what they see. And Pelosi and her ilk won't be around to take the fall, it will be us, and no amount of intellectual nuance is going to buy us a ticket to the promised land.

Enjoy yourself - it's later than you think.

JAIL TO THE CHIEF !

Conyers, Pelosi, and all members of Congress who oppose the impeachment of George W. Bush are betraying the oath they all swore when they took office and should be condemned for this betrayal.

Thrown the bum in jail with the whole of his executive branch & cronies to follow ! Cheney, Rice, Rumsfeld, Libby, Rove, Bremer, Perle, Wolfowitz & friends for high treason & war profiting !

Pelosi Admits She Has NOT Read Articles of Impeachment

Pelosi has previously, publicly admitted to rewriting legislation at the request of AIPAC, I have no doubt that Israel's current government wants the US to either invade Iran or come to Israels aid if she does so.

They see Bushcheney as the best hope for this and therefore are opposed to impeacment.

I no longer think impeachment is adequate. I believe the lying bastards who got us into this misbegotten war and devastated economy should be shorn of US citizenship and exiled.

Pelosi is a Traitor to Her Oath & Our Constitution

Support Cindy Sheehan in opposition to Pelosi.

 And

Use Your Power To Force Impeach Hearings Now or lose it forever

"As John Dean points out, Bush/Cheney have broken the same laws Nixon did, only Nixon's actions did not cost the lives of over 4000 brave American men and women" (and over 30,000 GIs wounded, one Million Iraqis Killed).

Bush and Cheney are the most impeachable US executives in American history. If the Incumbent House Democrats do not hold impeachment hearings soon it will be plain to all that they are Traitors to their Oath Of Office and to Our Constitution.

The failure of the House Democrats to hold Bush and Cheney accountable for the WMD Lies is unforgiveable.  The Democrats lied to us about Stopping The Iraq War in 2006 and then proceeded to fund it thru 2009.  Even the Democratic Base will not support them in the November election.

No matter what Bush/Cheney Crimes evidence comes out the Incumbent  House Democrats will try to ignore it. It is time for some tough love for Incumbent House Democrats.

How can we make Impeachment Hearings Happen?

Arrayed against impeachment literally, is nearly the entire Democratic Party establishment as well as most Republican Congressmen. But the Democrats control Congress and can start Impeachment Hearings with a simple majority vote. They have the votes.  We just have to make them do it.

Most rank and file Democratic voters want Impeachment but are being ignored by the Democratic Congress.

In addition, many of the so called progressive organizations are also in cahoots with the House Democrat and Pelosi (such as: MoveOn, ACLU & UFPJ ) and are against impeachment. It will take a very hard fight to over come this and some real courage on the part of Democratic voters.

MoveOn could cause Impeachment Hearings all by itself but refuses.

UFPJ once said it was for impeachment but refuses to take its 1,400 local activist groups to the street to support impeachment hearings.  Is it lying?

ACLU (don't get me going) was the primary leader in causing impeachment hearings for President Nixon, but today refuses to do so.  If the hundreds of violations of Our Constitution by Bush and Cheney are so much worse than Nixon... Why in Hell isn't ACLU supporting it?  What underhanded deal have they made with the Incumbent House Democrats and Pelosi?

In Colorado we have actually been doing negative campaigning against all incumbent Democratic Congressmen who reject  impeachment.

We have a Congressman Udall who is running to be a Senator from Colorado. He supposedly has a liberal background but is moving right as fast as he can. He avoids all protesters who want to stop the Iraq War funding and who support impeachment. The difficult aspect is that the Colorado Democratic Party, the Denver Media, and most Colorado Progressive organizations are helping him avoid us, However,  we have had contacts  from strong Udall supporters and bloggers asking us to back off.  We know we are having an effect on Udall's Campaign.

The race for the US Senate from Colorado is statistically "too close to call", so we have a real chance to make a difference here. We believe that since the race is "so close" that we actually can stop Udall from winning and going to the Senate.

The way we are doing this is by doing "Negative Protesting" at our weekly impeachment events, at all of Udalls public events.   We only have to sway the vote of a very small percentage of voters to keep Udall out of the Senate. This is doable.

Up until about two weeks ago, the honking at our weekly events had quadrupled since January. Then we used much "tougher" anti-Udall language on our signs and the honking doubled again. So much so that the Denver Police came and threatened arrest if we continued to use "honk to impeach" signs and also threatened us with citations for "disturbing the peace". A strong indication that we are getting to the Democratic establishment and that the public is with us.

Given that impeachment advocates have worked hard to lobby Congress to hold hearings and have done so for many years with no results, we think it is time for all impeachment advocates to try a different tactic,  to get tough with Incumbent House Democrats.

The House Democrats have ignored us for years. Unless we threaten to un-elect them with negative campaigning they will continue to ignore us. The only thing they care about is getting re-elected.

Unless Angry Liberal Democrats, Independents, Republicans, Greens and the rest of you get off the couch and carry signs in front of all Incumbent House Democratic Congressmen's offices with harsh language such as

"UDALL is a Traitor to Our Constitution because he Refuses To impeach"...

There Will Be No Impeachment and No Accountability.

It is up to you.
