Thanks to Malcolm Baird for bringing our attention to the following very remarkable and beautiful and beautifully done video called "HOME":

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqxENMKaeCU

Melting Icecaps

A couple of weeks ago I returned from a week in Ahmedabad and New Delhi, India.

I've never seen so many people.

And cars, trucks, scooters, taxis, camel-drawn trailers, bicycles, tricycles, and even steers and cows in the freeways.

It was very very dry, and dusty in most places.

Including the atmosphere.

The very beautiful video linked to above points out the terrible problems India has with overpopulation and a nearly complete failure to provide adequate water for human needs.

The people I met were very nice and hospitable and well-educated

".and adaptable. Apparently we all are.

For the time being.

--Ross McCluney

Text selections taken from the video's sound track:

Let's face the facts. We must believe what we know. All we have just seen is a reflection of human behavior. We have shaped the Earth in our image. We have very little time to change. How can this century carry the burden of 9 billion human beings if we refuse to be called to account for everything we alone have done?

20% of the world's population consumes 80% of its resources.
