Stumbled on this Quick Link yesterday. Thank you Amanda Lang.

Say what you will about Mr. Moyers. Say what you will about this ex military and family man's opinions on those ever so touchy subjects we pound each other about. But please, listen to this guy.

     http://www.opednews.com/maxwrite/linkframe.php?linkid=67609

He has spoken in congressional hearings. He is a Vietnam vet. A husband and father. But he is also human. A survivor in the human race who sees who he is and hopes that we should see who we are. He speaks to all of us to take responsibilty. He detests what we have become. It pains him to admit what he sees. But unlike the doomsdayers and the silent blind believers, he calls on himself to carry his own suitcase and for us to carry ours.

Listen to the air in his words. Listen to the silence as he honors the truth from his heart.

Listen to this man think. The thought he has put into his life.

He is not on the ballot. It is not possible.

But, he has written a book. THE LIMITS OF POWER: THE END OF AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM. Get it. Read it. It is as powerful as it is honest. You will not agree with all of it. That's not the point. Never has been.

And as consise and as clear as his assertions are that we are in deep and muddied waters, he is clear that these very sad realities can be 'our' call to look at ourselves. And that we must heed this call. Soon. He believes in himself. He is not naive.

He is not the answer. He is just one man. One voice.

I however, think he is an amazing person.

He calls us to get our house in order.
