What do you do when you don't have dragons to kill?   You beat up women and remove their rights.   It is the new American way.    Women are smaller.    They can be destroyed with a single word or with a well placed blow to the neck.   They fall quicker than dragons and die easier.   You can even have a fun time before you finish them off. When they are dead the problem is gone. This is the war on women.

Rush Limbaugh, Rick Santorum, Larry Summers, Newt Gingrich, John Edwards, and Barack Obama.   What do they have in common?     If you don't know I doubt I could educate you about respect for women in one article.

The Degradation of Women.

Sl*t had become a familiar term allowing men to win arguments while degrading women.     Rush Limbaugh didn't think twice before using this word against Sandra Fluke simply because he disagreed with her on the issue of birth control.   He lacked the brains to come up with a legitimate reason for his point of view.   So he resorted to insults.

We men get to bed as many women as we want.    We can get them pregnant and throw the "sl*t" and the baby in dumpster. But we aren't st*ts.   We're men.    If they don't like it they're sl*ts.   If a female virgin even thinks of using a contraceptive or tells us we aren't her type she must be one of those sl*ts too.   It's the only explanation.   And watch the redness that appears in the cheeks of a young girl when you call her that name in front of a group of people.   That will teach her.    This is what our society has come to in 2012.   My grandfather would be rolling with furor in his grave and my grandmother would be glad she is in her grave if they saw the way men today openly and righteously treat women.

What gave Lmbaugh the courage to call Fluke a sl*t? Why wasn't he slapped down for his words? Why weren't his gonads removed? In 2012 men are sent messages from leaders, judges and society that mistreatment of women is a matter of right. Legislators and leaders do no more than pay lip service to support for women's rights.

Under current Republican gospel we must enact laws to force women to carry dead fetuses conceived through rape to term. During that time the woman has to refrain from taking any medicines that could harm the fetus. She may have to undergo life threatening conditions to maintain the pregnancy.   She must die if necessary to avoid aborting the dead fetus. But she will go to heaven if she dies for that dead fetus. Isn't that a comfort ladies? The Republican agenda places the sperm of murderers and rapists above the lives of women.

Absentee balloting may work to the advantage of Republicans.   If you want to control the female vote you get your wife to ask for an absentee ballot and then force her to let you vote it.   Isn't domestic violence grand? And police rarely if ever enforce laws against it. So if your wife calls 911 to say you smacked her and grabbed her ballot the sheriff will tell her to stop playing a prank and be nice to you. I haven't yet figured out how to stop this problem. Perhaps the key is to stop violence against women. This is an idea that has yet to occur to police and legislators who may be fearing to act as they don't want law enforcement to stop them from beating their own wives.

The Fall of Women's Rights

On the surface things were different once upon a time before most of us were born. Then social pressure set an image of manliness that forced reality to fall in line. For sure exceptions existed.   Abusive men kept women in line through beatings. There is no denying that. This was considered wrong at that time. But borderline men had second thoughts. People might disapprove. Some men refrained from beating their wives so they didn't get the disapproval of their families. It was similar to speeding. Some are deterred by the laws and the stigma on their record of a traffic ticket. Even men who beat their own wives would make a show of disapproving of other men who were caught. Social groups would make a show of removing acknowledged batterers from their ranks. Known batterers were viewed as a subclass of human. This might not have been perfect. It was better than the current free for all. Now men beat and abuse and are proud of it.

As a boy I was told only farm animals hit girls. We were to treat girls nice and bring them flowers when we took them on dates. If a boy hit a girl it was the boy who was the coward and the dishonored one. Boys would make fun of other boys who hit girls. It was thought pathetic and weak.

So what do you do if people don't like you beating or killing a woman? You organize and whine. "Men have no rights in a divorce." "Judges always give women restraining orders." "Women always claim their husbands beat them."   Here's a secret for you ladies.   Even the guys who say these lines don't believe them.   That hasn't stopped a hot air men's rights movement from springing up in support of batterers.   "Punishing a batterer is sexist." "A 100 pound woman is just as much of a threat to a 250 pound man as he is to her." "Children are better off with a rich batterer than in a domestic violence shelter."

It isn't just society listening to the batterers' rights lingo. Judges and lawmakers are working round the clock to assure abusers that they will stand behind them. Women make up more than 50% of society. Only about 23 to 26 percent of judges are women.   How many of our judges are beating their own wives? One in three to one in four of the 74 to 77% that are men if the numbers collected nationally are correct. From guy talk I suspect it is closer to one in two.

I am from Orange County in the Golden State of California. There is no protection for women in this state and even less than no protection in Orange County. Women should avoid this county at all costs. Domestic violence shelters take state money to do almost nothing but take in money. Take note John Chiang. Women likely to die any minute are placed on long waiting lists for treatment at these shelters. This is practical as their deaths alleviate the problem of giving them treatment.

Last year there were numerous domestic violence shootings in Orange County. In every case the woman had asked for help and been denied help by the district attorney and police. Generally when prosecutor Tony Rackauckas gets a domestic violence case he finds an excuse to dismiss it. Eight women died because of the result of the failure to prosecute the husband who later engaged in the shoot up the women spree in Seal Beach. They would not have died if Rackauckas had prosecuted the man before he committed the murders everyone expected. Some time back Rackauckas was accused of accepting a bribe to drop a case against a batterer. In another case in 2010 Rackauckas is reported to have dropped a prosecution because of a financial deal allegedly struck between him and a man who tortured his wife, daughter and mother-in law. The mother-in-law died.   The man's own daughter accused him of sexual abuse. You have heard of "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover." Paul Simon. In the case of Rackauckas it's 50 thousand ways not to prosecute violence against women.
