We've been hearing about a POSITIVE new proposal for health care reform we want to throw 100% of our weight behind.

Medicare Option Under 65 Action Page: http://www.peaceteam.net/action/pnum1039.php

There IS an option that could redeem even the Senate health insurance bill in consideration, presuming we get an iron clad commitment up front that it will be done. And that is to provide that people younger than 65 should be permitted the OPTION of buying into the Medicare.

This is a simple, common sense idea that nobody could justifiably oppose. Instead of cutting Medicare, which is the most efficient and economical health care program in the country, why not bring more money into Medicare and strengthen it, by giving the American people the freedom to make THAT one of their choices, regardless of any other bill that passes?

The only real public option has always been and remains Medicare. We say let "The Medicare Option" BE the public option.

Please submit this action page now, to tell Congress that THIS is they way they must go in reconciliation.

Medicare Option Under 65 Action Page: http://www.peaceteam.net/action/pnum1039.php

And in conjunction with this initiative we are launching a spectacular new function for our Facebook participants only. If you are not on Facebook already please just use the regular action link above, otherwise please read on.

We have already told you about our Voices application, which empowers anyone with a Facebook page to submit and create their own action pages, right on a tab on their profile page. Our progressive friends at Democrats.com have created a complete series of 435 such profile pages, one for each congressional district. And we have created for them a special jump page on their main Facebook here:

[Facebook] Local District Jump Page: http://www.facebook.com/democratscom?v=app_2370152746

There is a message on this page with much more about the mission of this project. Just select your state and congressional district number on the page above, or if you don't know your congressional district number there is an easy lookup function there as well (from your street address and zip code), and you will be automatically be redirected to the new organizing page for your district.

As of this moment these district number pages are all just blank slates to start with, which is where YOU come in. We need everyone to hook up with the page for their district. Say hello, leave a post, become a fan, and these pages will become organizing centers for all future progressive mobilization purposes local district by local district.

It is time we harnessed the social media to achieve their awesome true organizing potential, and with 300 million users already on Facebook, and all the magical application technology we have created, there is no limit to what we can do if YOU just go there and participate.

By the way, if you click on the Voices tab of any of these district pages, you will find a Facebook version of the very same "The Medicare Option" action page. And you can also get to it from any of the "watch list" links, again on any of the Voices tabs.

And this is the Twitter reply for the Medicare Option Under 65 action
