Terror in Paris: click here

Terrific article -- clear, informative, no-axe-to-grind. Validated my own perception of Charlie Hebdo as unnecessarily and disingenuously provocative, given, as Davidson points out, the connivance of the French Government and their anti-Muslim agenda. My instincts told me from the git-go that the various slogans -- "free speech"; "violation of of our universal values"; "acts of terrorism"; were generated to cover the Hebdo-Government collusion as well as the French disdain, of all Muslims and all things Muslim. Since I re-read Franz Fanon in the mid-90's, I've believed that the French have never forgotten getting kicked out of Algeria and have nourished a vindictive attitude towards their former subjects. As Davidson warns, unless the French and British and Belgians, the former pre-eminent European colonial powers, and the US of A, imperialist power #1, begin adhering to the international laws enacted to prevent a reprise of the World War bloodbaths, the vicious cycle, as he terms it, of attack and reprisal will continue for the foreseeable future and many people will die.
