When my youngest son read The WingMaker, he immediately made friends with a very challenged special needs boy at school. They couldn't chat, but my son smiled at him and said, "Hey there. It's nice to see you today." The boy looked at my son and smiled. The teachers nearly fainted, having never seen him make eye contact or smile before!

When my second youngest son read The WingMaker, he came straight to where I was reading on the couch and hugged me tight. He said he almost cried, because it was so happy and sad at the same time and he didn't know what to do. He said it made him keep thinking about things that he never thought about before, and he wanted to bring a copy to his school for the school library. "Maybe the school will learn something." he hoped.

I'm so excited for tonight's podcast! I'm interested to know what others take away from the story!
