Will Our Nation Experience Another Kent State?: .ly/pYDWX6
On May 4, 1970, four members of a group of anti-Vietnam War protestors were shot dead and nine others seriously wounded one of which was permanently paralyzed. The shots that were fired came from the National Guard which was called in to quell a series of protests aimed against the government's decision to invade Cambodia. When a shot was heard in front of the troops, some of the troops began to fire into a crowd of students. Soldiers who were interviewed later stated that the tension was high and nerves were unsteady.Â
