Article: Rush Limbaugh's Mouth Has Many Sides

Rush Limbaugh calls for riots in Denver and then modifies his call for riots in Denver. The originator of Operation Chaos follows in the footsteps of Know Nothings and Father Coughlin and others who have gained large followings by inciting hatred and mayhem.Just to ensure that Rush has no grounds for assuming the Obama forces will do anything untoward in Denver, I shall set the agitated hater's mind at rest.

1. Barack Obama is on the threshold of winning the nomination NOW, not by fomenting riots but by the simple process of winning enough delegates to achieve a continuing commanding lead, and gaining the confidence and endorsement of enough superdelegates to at least equal the shaky superdelegate contingent presently committed to Hillary Clinton.

2. The Obama Campaign will, by or before the close of the primary season, have a massive infusion of superdelegates owing to their common decision to choose the presumptive nominee in time for there to be a fall campaign to beat John McCain.

3. Superdelegates will more and more appreciate that Obama, without making any false assumptions, has resolutely moved his campaign to the next level, which is the implementation of a 50 state organizing strategy that will swell his on the ground support to levels unseen in American politics.

4. I suspect that Rush's ambivalent and mercurial anxiety is stoked by the fact that there is genuine FEAR on the Right. The Clintons were a great target because their commitment to progressive ideas was trumped by their allegiance to corporate interests and self-advancement. Barack is far more threatening to the interests that Rush Cares about. Barack is a candidate who takes seriously Ike's warnings about the military insustrial complex. And about countering the interests of the big lobbies. Poor Rush. The Obama Strategy is beginning to look like the fruition of the most effective campaigning the Right managed to do when they were, er, in power. It is this past tense sense that has Rush's mouth going dry.

5. Since the carpet is being rolled out daily and Rush's options are diminishing as Obama forces continue to do the right thing, the prospect of a 1968 in Denver is not merely remote but laughable. The Clinton's are professionals and even the impunity-driven spins of Terry McAuliffe will not keep them from ultimately tossing in the towel.

6. Let me offer you, Rush, some other angles to ply. Join Hillary Clinton in ensuring that Michigan and Florida are counted just as the votes went down. Whoops, that will not keep superdelegates from moving to Barack to keep such inanity from becoming real. Oh, dear. I've got it. Support Hillary Clinton's plan to resurrect the Cold War in the Middle East. But wait! If superdelegates see you doing that, with the bulk of the American electorate already committed to reversing Bush policies, they will gravitate to Barack. Ah. Nothing you can do will prevent the resolution of this well before Denver.

Which just may be why, after calling for riots, you said you really were not calling for riots. It is a wonderful aspect of being a human being to have a mouth with more than one side.
