Some of the religious organisation allegedly involved in terrorism have now been changing the names and tactics to continue their mission of spoiling the mind of the youth. These organisations, some of them enjoying the support of the officials of Pakistani government were banned after their involvement in terrorism.
These terrorists organisations have camps in the tribal areas where they have been providing training to the youths for carrying out terrorist attacks in the world and Pakistan. The role of Pakistani officials are still dubious. The people of tribal areas situated on Pak-Afghan border have demanded of the government to tame these organisation.
A leading Pakistani newspaer reports that jihadi outfit Jamaatud Dawa (JD) plans to resume publication of its entire catalogue seven publications with new names over fears that the government may impose a possible ban on the existing names.
The JD was previously banned in January 2001 when it operated under the name of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Currently, JD publishes the weeklies Ghazwa, Zarb-e-Taiba and Taibaat along with the monthlies Adawa and Babul Islam in Urdu. It also publishes the monthlies Voice of Islam and Al-Ribaat in English and Arabic, respectively. These publications are said to propagate jihad and highlight the nationwide activities of JD.
Sources told the newspaer that JD would rename its publications following a decision made during a recent meeting chaired by organisation chief Hafiz Saeed Ahmad. Yahya Mujahid, the spokesman for the organisation, did not confirm such plans.
The tribesmen demanded that the government should take notice of the situation. The people of tribal areas will not allow these anti-social elements to carry out their activities in the region, some of the tribesmen said.
