This Being has many names: Yahweh, Allah, Brahman, Wakan Tanka, - to mention a few. He/She has sent messages to many cultures, through holy people and prophets. Some are preserved as sacred writings, others are handed down through the generations orally.
God represents our DNA, which has the goal of perpetuating itself, and adapting to changing conditions on the planet. Therefore, God is pro-life, pro-survival, and gives guidance that will enable a people to go on. Thus, tribes, such as the ancient Hebrews, experience God as helping their particular group or nation.
Now that we are all in communication on this small globe spinning through space, it is time to recognize that all peoples worship the same God. If we can acknowledge this, that we are all His/Her children, we will be able to overcome the barriers erected by formal religions- Hindus vs Muslims, Orthodox vs Reform Jews, Protestants vs Catholics, etc. Our survival as a species, as a life form, now depends on all peoples being able to cooperate for world peace. Our DNA is crying out for unification of consciousness on a global scale.
Praise the LORD, all you nations;
glorify him, all you peoples!
