What is our Objective in Writing Articles?

What is our Objective in Writing Articles?
Do we want to inform others of some information about say, the Neocons, Bush’s lies, the poor Iraqis or the Palestinians in Gaza?
Do we want to convince others of what we believe in, like some demented evangelical minister giving out ‘Christian coins’ to Iraqis?
What is our motivation – I would really like to hear from other writers.
Some might say we like the sound of our own voices, so to speak, or that we have such enormous egos that we are desperate to see our name in print, even if we don’t get paid for our efforts.
One thing is for sure. Everyone who writes for progressive sites, just like the right wing sites, has an agenda, whether they know it or not.
Broadly speaking you can spot the agenda of an article very easily, especially if it’s one that you don’t like. Hilary supporters writing against Obama or Obama supporters against Hillary or McCain. They want to convince you to join their side, and sometimes they are not very subtle about it. With a few, it’s like the proverbial alcoholic who desperately wants you to join him in a drink, so as to comfort himself in his disease. Politics can be like that.
