When the day comes that any book is more important than any human life the world needs to come to an end, at least as far as the human species is concerned. I cannot accept that any God by any name would prefer his children ignore thou shall not Kill should a copy of his written word be burned in ignorance.
If one takes the time to read the Quran and compare it to the Christian Bible there are numerous similarities and if looked at from the standpoint of overall message they are the same. Yes one can choose to find passages in the Quran that do not paint non-Muslims in a favorable light but on the other hand the Old Testament Christian Bible doesn't portray a very nice Deity either.
Apparently Preacher Jones hasn't actually burned any books yet but according to the news media a number of American flags have gone up in smoke and some folks have been injured. Once again, if the comparison were made between flag and human life a civilized person (is there such a thing) would have to opt for saving the life rather than the colorful cloth banner. I wonder has the thought ever crossed the minds of the Mid Eastern flag burners that perhaps the American People might feel the same way about their flag that the Muslims do about their book. They are both objects of course, whose value lies in the minds and beliefs of their holders. If by chance the Muslims should recognize this possibility then is it an indication that they (like we Americans) believe their fecal matter doesn't waft bad odors while ours does. Or in other words that their stuff is worth killing for while ours is insignificant. If this is true then in order to avoid the escalation of this matter into another out and out War we should pause and think a moment. Maybe that was its intent. Perhaps we should dig a little deeper and consider that the whole scenario might have as its purpose the re-ignition of the anger of we-the-people, inciting us to overlook the fact that we have become fed up with our government's intrusions into foreign lands in the quest for gold/oil?
I don't know about anyone else but I'm beginning to smell something vaguely familiar. Me thinks the Chess Masters are moving the pawns again! Particularly in light of the FACT that our Government with it's Army of legal minds, Lawyers and Enforcement Agencies cannot possibly be unaware of the president setting case Brandenburg v. Ohio, 395 U.S. 444 (1969), a United States Supreme Court case based on the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. It held "that government cannot punish inflammatory speech unless it is directed to inciting and likely to incite imminent lawless action."
But perhaps like 9/11' and Pearl Harbor our Government had no forewarning of Preacher Jones intent. Perhaps they have also misplaced the Law Volume that contains Case #, 395 U.S. 444 (1969). Yea, Right!
