Passing Through the Graveyard of Liberty

The banks will not loan to consumers or to small businesses for perhaps ten years before they restore balances. They will hunker down with treasuries and prime corporate bonds until homes and factories become dirt cheap. Sooner or later Obama will resurrect FDR's Reconstruction Finance Agency to support consumer and business loans.

I agree the military has been a waste, but does anyone want 140,000 jobless veterans to arrive in the USA with weapons?

If Obama punished wire tappers, war criminals and torture mongers, the Senate and the House would convene in prison. How would that sit with the voters back home?

Desperately, we need the labor unions to restore lost wages and jobs for the consuming backbone of the country. We won't begin any recovery until the Employee Free Choice Act comes into law. Fat chance!

Americans have been duped to despise organized labor.

While the AMA and the doctors bribe the politicians, you can whistle for proper medical care.

US Medical Costs are a Scandal

The AMA manipulates the number of doctors, so the few who make it through can charge huge fees. For example, my cataract operation costs $5000 in the US, $100 in Israel and $10 in India.

US doctors have formed a medieval trade guild. Obama's stimulus should provide medical school tuition free to every qualified medical student.

Wire Tapping

The wire tapping approach has been compromised and useless from the start. For maintenance and repair the Israelis designed a back door entry to the system. A talented hacker can open American telecommunications for any purpose subversive or not.

If the client desires full information on FBI personnel, for example, the hacker can pluck it over the air so to speak. Concentrating the effort on suspect individuals, the hacker avoids the cost and inefficiencies of casting a huge net. In this regard, the system works better for our potential foes than it does with the US government.

Domestic spying can be useful against high public officials, corrupt bankers and CEO's who resist Obama's policies. I can't see any other benefit for the President.

Demagoguery Works

A month ago Obama was talking about the long hard road to recovery fraught with difficulties. Rush Limbaugh hopped all over him waving the flag and boasting about the curative powers of the good old Constitution. Rush will claim anything, the public laps it up and the President dropped in the public opinion polls.

The topper was the State of the Union Address. Let's be kind. We will say he put labor unions, torture, wire tapping and bank restructuring on the back burner. Administration insiders are being subverted by Geithner and Summers to name two of the traitors. Sarah Palin will be President before those two figure a way out of the bank collapse.
