Democratic candidate Al Franken widened his lead over incumbent Senator Norm Coleman to 50 votes as the Minnesota state Canvassing Board wound down its review of challenged ballots in the contested Senate race on Tuesday. The state Canvassing Board is aiming to certify a winner by Jan. 6. But both sides appear to be bracing for the possibility that the contest may be decided in court rather than by the election panel. |
