A just-released report, "Risky Business", examines in unprecedented depth the threat to the U.S. economy if we fail to address climate disruption. The Risky Business Project, cochaired by philanthropist and former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, former U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, and philanthropist/environmentalist Tom Steyer, tasked an economic research firm that specializes in analyzing disruptive global trends with assessing the economic risks posed by a changing climate in the U.S. Risky Business: The Economic Risks of Climate Change to the United States uses a standard risk-assessment approach to determine the range of potential consequences for each region of the U.S.--as well as for selected sectors of the economy--if we continue on our current path.
