What nonsense this is. I was one of thousands of teachers whose students, for 8 years, consistently ranked at the top of all literacy tests in NYC, and students lined up to enter my school and my classes. But, when the harassment to send senior teachers packing began, the principal pulled me from my successful practice teaching English to the entire seventh grade ( a practice that was studied by Harvard for The New Standards), and she put me in a 'closet' to teach 6 students as a 'pull-out' teacher. Now, she 'observed me, and documented my 'incompetence.'

Thousands of the top teachers were 'evaluated' out of the system, and now this bogus evaluation is the death knell for the profession. Who will want to teach, when their career hangs on bogus evaluation. The New Standards gave us the EIGHT PRINCIPLES OF LEARNING, REAL CRITERIA FOR TEACHERS. WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
