The widely trumpeted scandal about "mysterious" sonic attacks against American diplomats in the US Embassy in Havana was an alleged incident in which Cuba was denied cooperation despite having put all of its scientific potential at disposal of the investigation. It was qualified as a falsehood even by American scientists who reviewed the issue. Despite it all the incident served as excuse to cancel delivery of visas in Havana (Cuban residents wishing to request them now have to travel to Bogota, Colombia, for it) and now extends to THIS. It directly undermines possible joint investigation of infectious diseases like Zika, etc., as people interviewed for the article explain.
