A professor called to speak to billionaire hedge fund managers about the future of technology discovers that their only concern is for their own survival of whatever Armageddonish calamity ensues - revolution, the demise of the financial system, a climate disaster - and that altering their self-serving ethos to prevent a societal breakdown is not even on their radar.
