Bloomberg reports that Andrés Sepúlveda rigged elections throughout Latin America for almost a decade. His story includes breaking into web sites of political opponents and the government, selective vote suppression, sowing  confusion, de-registering people.  "For eight years, Sepúlveda, now 31, says he traveled the continent rigging major political campaigns." He was hired not directly by the politicians themselves, but through multiple layers of middlemen, for deniability. "His teams worked on presidential elections in Nicaragua, Panama, Honduras, El Salvador, Colombia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Venezuela." He worked exclusively for candidates on the political right. Like a spy, he paid for everything in cash, and communicated with his contractors in person. When each election was over, he physically destroyed his computers, thumb drives, and cell phones to cover his tracks.
